Greatest Update Ever!

EA finally decided to kick all us Steam players to the curb.  Now we don't have to play any more!!  Steam has 3 or more pages about the crashes to desktop after the intro video plays.  It is high time someone had the guts to give us the finger and put us in our place.

🥳

Best of everything to the team to get it fixed soon. Unless of course this was intentional.  Have fun, I will attempt to play it tomorrow night.

  • I don't know what the deal was, I took a few weeks off Apex to play other games and do some work around the house.  When I patched, it seems to work again, nothing on my system changed.  It was a patch that killed it and another patch repaired it.  Of course, EA and other game companies would rather we didn't stop playing for such stents.  I can only guess, many people just uninstall and never bother with it again.  While I am back in, looks like I have little to no hope of finishing this season out 100%.

    Have fun!

  • From what I've seen, this is mostly caused by players using the DX12 version of the game. (I'm not sure about the standard DX11 version)

The JSON file that's executed to run the DX12 version of the game actually tries to run the normal DX11 version, which might cause a conflict or something.

Not sure if Respawn is aware of this issue yet, though switching to the DX11 version might fix this issue.

Yeah, surprisingly I’ve had zero issues with Steam in this update
  • Not sure what the issue is but the forum posts on Steam continue to grow.  One thread is up to 10 pages 139 postings.

    I read this today;

how to fix game crashing while loading
    Turn off your PC

    Start your PC

Press the hotkeys to open your PC BIOS

Go to CPU settings and search for an option with AES-NI and enable it

    Save and Exit <3

But what if I don't have "AES-NI" in there?

I will go look now. However seems to me like I have been upgraded out of playing this game.  I guess EA wants me to spend my check next month on a new PC and not pay them at all?? LOL You got to know who butters your bread Respawn.

Yeah it seems like the version of the game that was released with the event is missing certain stuff to make certain CPUs with their specific instruction sets work on the game.

I'm not well versed with this kind of stuff, but I believe older instruction sets are temporarily not able to run the game unless Respawn releases a patch.

If you don't have AES-NI in there then that would mean that your CPU doesn't support it.

(In that case you'll need to wait for a patch to be released by Respawn)

Generally it's best to have this instruction set enabled, as it does provide some better performance from what I've read.

For other PC players that are still crashing, this thread might be of help:

Every single word of this is exactly why I would rather drive my VW Beetle of an xbox through Apexville than a Ferrari PC.

$500 bucks, guys. That's all you need.
