Gun swap during fight too slow

Once again I’m in a gun fight and I calmly swap to my second weapon and it takes like three seconds for it to come out and play. It’s like I’m standing there watching the enemy shooting me   dead after I get the jump on him with my first gun. The death report shows it. This is happening way too much. Xbox series x. And yes, I saw drastic improvements a month or so ago when they fixed Xbox input lag. But there’s still some kind of sporadic issue. Tired of losing fights I should be winning.

great game though

  • @Frosty20203 There are many issues still with Xbox, season 13 has been horrible for Xbox. They need to fix this stuff, it’s been an entire season of apex messing with Xbox players.

  • ithink the game just make it slow like that tho not like cs is more faster

  • @hayhor It doesn’t seem to matter. I try to run with r301, r99, flatline, r45, and try to find the best attachments. Some games all is good, but in other games the controller input lag seems to gets slow during a fight. I’ve also noticed me punching during a gunfight though I have button puncher set and only the B is set to punch. Last night I was in a fight and was concentrating on which buttons/paddles I was clicking during one fight and when I swapped guns my character instead punched. I had thumbs in both sticks at the time, I did not press the B button, no other button or paddle is programmed to punch. My new theory is that sometimes bits are being lost or corrupted during fast paced moments and the commands come out as something different than intended. I’m guessing the servers ignore corrupted packers and that could explain why sometimes nothing happens or why no gun swap occurs or why maybe the command comes out as a punch. Just speculation. I’ve been playing several years and know how long it takes for guns to swap, with or without attachments, and I know I didn’t press punch last night though it happened. I tested my controller in the FR after that fight and proved only the B button causes a punch—which I 100% guarantee I did not click in this instance. My controller works perfect in FR and in many games/fights. It slows down in brisk game moments no doubt.

@Frosty20203 Those guns shouldnt be slow. Lstars and other lmgs are super slow. On my game if I press the shoot button while my gun is holstered I punch. So if I'm swapping guns and press fire too soon, it punches.
  • Following up on @hayhor's post, if you do not have a weapon out, you can melee also anytime by pressing the same button you use to fire a weapon.  This is handy to know off drop when you have to resort to fisticuffs, or when you want to make use of what remains of the punch boosting mechanic.

  • Stocks matter but sometimes I think it is just me.  I'll swap weapons and it seems to take FOREVER.  I'm watching the enemy kill me in slow motion while the animation seems to play at half speed.

@HappyHourSumwur I get exactly the same thing happen, you watch the big streamers and the swap seems lighting fast…does not happen for me regardless of attachment.
