I just added a friend but I have to wait two weeks to send the free to gift skin. However, by that time a new free to gift skin will be added to the store. Have I just missed out on being able to get the flatline reactive skin because of this?

New free gifts are put into the shop every two weeks and the old ones are replaced. That said, if you miss 4/6 weeks like a lot of people have you can ensure that you won't be able to gift a 100 coin apex pack. You will be forced to gift a 950 coin battle pass. For every free gift you miss will be a $10 battle pass you must gift to complete this challenge. In my case it would be $40 to complete.
