Some of the legends have 2 heirlooms, ex: bang has cold steel and emeralds edge. And some of those heirlooms have unique finishers/banner poses in those the legend will be holding their heirloom, but...

Unlocked heirloom banners, poses, finishers are still available no matter which version of the heirloom (or what melee weapon at all) you have equipped. In this way heirlooms behave quite differently from mythical armor.
