Heirloom set every 500 packs

The answer to that is no, the special event ticks are separate from the regular lootboxes and those packs neither have the chance to grant an heirloom set, and also do not count towards the 500 pity timer. EA mods stated this in official replies back during iron crown.
@HazardManiac the answer is that purchasing the Pathfinder heirloom does not reset the pity timer on the loot ticks if it's purchased directly during one of these collection events. If you're close to the pity timer, you will still get one of the heirloom sets if you hit 500.
I wouldn't actually recommend to sink a lot of money into the game tho, since it's not being used to reinvest into the game, and Apex's popularity has seen sharp decline recently. And the remaining shelf life of the game is questionable.
