Hot drop garbage

Wanting a smaller map for the short attention span players seems like a nice idea on the surface, but:
a) I don't want to be forced onto a team deathmatch map because a bunch of kids have adhd. That's why I left 20 years of Halo to come to Apex.
b) This game doesn't need to bend to hot droppers' compromised mental condition. Those players need to go find a non-battle royale game that's better suited to them.
c) Stop encouraging their behavior by being willing to drop with them. If you don't get jumpmaster then you have five seconds in the drop ship to select "drop solo." Selecting it doesn't mean you can't drop with your squad. It means your sending a message to the jm that your options are open and they shouldn't do anything stupid. If you're on mic then you can actually say that, although it won't make you any friends. But sometimes the right thing to do is the unpopular thing to do. Every single match I play I drop solo and I stay alive until my squadmates get themselves killed or survive to third place where we meet back up and then take it from there. I know it sounds anti-meta, but it actually works. Unless you have some fantasy of making it to Diamond.

@reconzero yeah this. I have said it once and I will say it again: The game shouldn't change just to get around dumb people. To me it's insane.
Frankly, I think these people shouldn't be allowed to enter ranked matches in the first place.
I have squadded up with some buddies for ranked arenas, the experience is much better. I was tired of teammates that go solo, go opposite of the ring, or people ratting the whole game.
If I can be completely honest, one of my buddies was bad at the game. And yet, he used his common sense, he stuck with us, he tried to help in whatever way he could, and thanks to him, I broke the RP ceiling I was stuck under for the past 90 hours.

Don't play the smaller map. Giving people what they want may help divide people up with how they want to play.
I've been playing since season 7 and it seems like there are more of them now than ever.

As I read "smaller map" I'm reminded of the fact that this game already has arenas, and if that doesn't provide the adrenaline junkies with whatever it is they're looking for then why necessarily would a smaller battle royale map scratch the itch?Kind of seems like Broken Moon was a way to combat hot drops. More loot distributed around the map, combat terrain areas seem to be more equal, zip rails to move quickly between areas, etc. IDK it seems like they're aware of the problem.
Regarding arenas, do people really even play it? I've played it a bunch but it's not that fun.
