I am literally the worst apex player alive. Level 68, with a kdr of a whopping .01. I have won a dashing 8 games. How the freak is my kdr so low?!! I need help for MAJOR improvement. I suck and I need major help. I think ima quit tbh. I suck, and tbh this is my first shooter game I’ve played. This season my kdr has slight improvement but not by much. A whopping .12. Help please??!???

@ex1xc1tyi suggest that you really need to stop thinking about if you are good or bad , just play the game for fun.don't fall into the trap of taking it seriously because it will ruin the fun aspects of the game.but if you still want to be competitive then you can use training or even hire a coach and with time you will get there.it's not magic , everyday there will be a little progress .i remember it took me a whole week to know what the ultimate accelerant is for and how to use it, i thought it got something to do with health LOL .Note: if you post some clips of your game play in here then you will get some ideas , suggestions and advice by the forum members.we can point out what did you do wrong or right and what to do in specific situations and you will get a lot of different and useful information from all the experienced people here.

@ex1xc1tyi suggest that you really need to stop thinking about if you are good or bad , just play the game for fun.
don't fall into the trap of taking it seriously because it will ruin the fun aspects of the game.
but if you still want to be competitive then you can use training or even hire a coach and with time you will get there.
it's not magic , everyday there will be a little progress .

I know this situation has been tough and disheartening for you, but I think it's important for you to start comparing yourself to your past self. You can begin by watching plenty of YouTube videos to improve your shooting skills, understanding of concepts, and tactical awareness. Then, set yourself some achievable goals! Don't rush into playing ranked matches; instead, focus on enhancing your abilities in regular matches day by day. I truly believe you will see progress!
One crucial point is to maintain a calm mindset while playing the game, as your emotions can affect your gameplay in any aspect! Keep pushing, my friend! I have faith that you can reach new heights in Apex and carve out your own success!

Apologies in advance if I cover some ground others have covered already.

Shooters are an unforgiving breed. This shooter is even less forgiving than most. The thing you need beyond any other factor is patience. If you can be patient then everything else will come in time. Just don't expect to drop into a game with such an enormously high skill ceiling, play 100 matches, and then start wiping the floor. Set smaller goals than a 10% win rate or a 1.5 kd. I'll give you an extreme example: I know a guy who played the first three seasons of this game without picking up a weapon. THAT's easing into things slowly.

I don't know how many matches level 68 represents, but I can tell you that I didn't even approach basic competence in this game until I hit somewhere around 12,000 matches. Yeah, I'm a slow learner. Now I'm near indestructible. It can happen that way, but it doesn't happen over night. It doesn't happen in the course of a season or two. If you want it in this game then you sweat for it. Be patient.

@ex1xc1ty I’m pretty bad. The last few months have been the most challenging of the last four years for me. Everyone I play against is like a predator to me and my random teammates are almost always kamikaze nutsos who rush in to die as soon as they can. You can take private lessons and maybe find a team of similar skilled players to help each other.

Yes, I die more because of trying to get a revive or recover a banner then actually fighting. Even if I try to stay back, they always come after me. It sucks when I play with my brother, because he rushes in when I have nothing and gets mad when he dies.

@ex1xc1tyThis game is brutally difficult for beginners. I started S8 and my KDR was 0.35. I felt exactly like you do and still do even though I've been able to get my KDR to around 1.0, which is about where it will be forever but I'm good with that.

Simple suggestions, not that I'm all that good, but anyways. All of this just takes time, IMO.

Find a few guns you like in the firing range & then use them all the time. I'd suggest a mid range (r301, Flatline, etc.) plus close range (CAR, re45, shotgun) might be a decent option. Leave sniper rifles &
Get your button layouts comfortable. Put your most used functions under your fingers & minimize moving to different keys or buttons. For example, I have shields and cells on mouse buttons and use the Last Action (key 4) to use heals.
Use your tactical and ultimate when you have them.
Charge shields and heal often. Prioritize big heals (batts, kits) over small ones (cells, syringes).
Use cover & don't ego challenge. If you are getting shot, don't stand toe to toe with them.
Get used to using the minimap and directional indicators to stay near your teammates.

Play Control to practice all this stuff. You get the reps that way. BR modes doesn't get you the practice you need, IMO.
