for you it is impossible, but not for good players who play alot
@Oopilum I don't think you understand how thee RNG system works for heirlooms.
I use the exact same game you do, no special codes or anything from EA. I received 2 heirlooms before I even joined the superuser program and in total I have 5. Some I purchased from events and 2 I received from the 500 pack guarantees. I'm likely close to a 6th heirloom from the 500 pack guarantee. When you're trying to get one from just opening packs it seems like it takes forever. It also seems like you've opened more than 500 packs. But you have not.. It has never malfunctioned for me or anyone else. The one exception was the event in which you could get shards, but that was patched almost immediately and EA made things right with the players who had their counters reset.
The Apex Packs are entirely RNG based. Basically how RNG work, they cycle through a number sequence billions of times a second. When you open a pack, it instantly stops the RNG, that produces a number sequence. Those numbers correlate with in game items. The odds of stopping the RNG on heirloom shards are very very low. probably some place in the neighborhood of .5% or less. The reason they are low, the majority of the outcomes are some other item in the game. There is no way to weight the RNG to favor some players over others. Trying to code an RNG to do that would be nearly impossible. Some people simply get lucky with the RNG, but the majority do not. The Counter is entirely separate game function, it counts the number of packs opened. If the Heirloom has not been received at 500 packs, the counter will over ride the RNG to produce a heirloom outcome. It's very simple code and commonly used in Casino games that have "must win by" prizes.
You're welcome to read up RNG's and how they function there is plenty of information on the internet about them.
