I just uninstalled Apex
Every single one of my friends quit this game recently. And the reason for it is broadly the same. This game isn't even "playable" Anyone logging on to Apex will casually find themselves spending 45...
@Wingmannedbro That's not a desk man, it's a console for a doomsday device.
@Wingmannedbro So desks are one of those things you don't see people putting much thought in but for me they have always been serious business when it comes to my setup. Good to see that considered in yours. I have went overboard on mine though. This is the Lian Li DK-02 which cost $1200 at the time it was released. They are on to version 5 by this point, which I am thinking about getting since it has features I want. Anyway, this desk holds 2 PCs in it. My gaming PC and my streaming/Home Theater PC. Love it!
Here are their line of desks currently http://www.lian-li.com/desks/
Wait so, the PC's are built into the compartment below the desk surface?
Doesn't make it harder to cool tho?
Dunno if you saw the comment in my thread where I linked the desk I bought, the one I got has lots of space, and looks gorgeous.
Costs only 250 euro 🙂 granted that it won't be made out of oak wood, and it's best not to try and sit on it. But as long as i resist throwing 40 pound dumbbells on top of it i think it should be strong enough.
Was seeing a streamer who asked people to send in snaps of their setup, and it was actually hilarious how many people had a beefcake computer on this microscopic desk that could barely fit keyboard and a standard size mousepad.
The mousepad I use to play Fortnite would basically occupy most the surface. It was pretty funny, it's like seeing this huge guy riding around on a miniature motorcycle lol.
@WingmannedbroYes, both PCs are contained in a drawer. The drawer can easily be opened for maintenance or cleaning and even come all the way out of the enclosure. It came with 6 fans but I added 4 more I had laying around for 10 total that are set up for intakes. I use liquid Corsair AIO CPU coolers each with 2 fans in a push/pull set up sandwiching the radiators as well as both PSUs all exhausting out of the back of the case. 10 intake fans creating a negative pressure enclosure for both PCs keeps everything pretty cool. The streaming PC isn't creating much heat to begin with so I don't have trouble managing heat.
I would take a better picture but I would have to turn it off to fully open the drawer as the cable management is currently. I only ever disconnect everything when I clean it every 6 months. Every intake fan has dust covers also so it stays pretty clean. I plan on cleaning it out in the next day or so but you can get the idea from these pictures.
I just gradually gravitated to a minimalist set up after having sound systems, printers, never liked or thought multi displays were necessary but the best way I thought to de-clutter was to remove the case. The desk is the way to do it.
@GRiPSViGiLAt first I was like... please let the $1250 be a typo... 1250 for a desk would warrant 1250 slaps to the face to snap some sense into the person buying it and double for the creator.
But knowing that there are actual computers inside makes it make more sense :P
@DavidW74 The word you’re searching for is ‘quit’ not ‘quite’. Seeing as you misused that word twice I either think you got autocorrected, didn’t know or were too busy 🙂
Derail off topic for a bit.
1250 for a custom semi custom desk is pretty cheap actually. I do custom woodworking in my spare time. If cad files have to be generated prior to build well that is 150 an hour. It costs 5000 up front and 1200 a year for the software. This isn’t even including the woodworking equipment required. My wife calls my workshop my midlife corvette for all the money sitting out there. In the end it costs roughly 50 to 150 per hour for some projects others are just scope projects. Time and materials get really expensive oak is actually cheap to work with cherry walnut can get really expensive. I just finished a cherry shadowbox and it was upwards of 500 when I finished it.Honestly there is nothing better than seeing a project get finished. @GRiPSViGiL @I like your desk and setup.
@Koochi-Q I am an engineer full time which I enjoy. This is more of a hobby that I can take my time to enjoy. Some projects take a year or more because of my pickiness so doing it as a full time thing would take some of the joy out of it for me.
That's because all the decent players left Apex. I for one did, at least for now. Why would I bother playing the game?
I already reached my max skill ceiling in ranked - Diamond.
Playing Unranked is just as hard as playing ranked, so no more fun to be gained there.
I've already earned all the meaningful badges.
There is no reason to play the game anymore. Not until S4 starts... Then I'll just do the same unless they revert SBMM. I'll rank up to Diamond again and quit until S5. Or maybe dabble in a fun LTM, but thats only temporary.
The people who are against SBMM should voice their discontent by putting the game down. Nothing speaks louder than lost $$$. I’m approaching this point.
I understand that’s hard because Apex is a great game with awesome mechanics, but when something becomes un-fun and the Devs don’t address it, it’s time to speak with your wallet and spend your time doing things you enjoy more.
I asked my squadmates which rank they have in ranked mode.
I am silver 2 and all my teammates that answered were platinum 3 and 4 so far...
That's a bit strange, because this is clearly a huge difference!
So definitaly the rank in ranked mode has anything to do with the calculated skill in SBMM...
If there are now players with diamond rank or any other high rank, maybe they just should accept that this 2 systems work totally different.
But still I can confirm that SBMM gives me really acceptable enemies (even without my squadmates 😇) :

First of all, this thread is not about SBMM. But about toxic quitters/terrible teammates.
And second, all you SBMM whiners are a bunch of liars. Platinum games were significantly harder for me and my friends as a Diamond players.
What's actually going on is that scores of gold and plat players get dumpstered by other gold and plat players. Yet keep claiming that everyone they lose to is a predator 20bomb 4K badge player because losing to a gold player would be too embarrassing to admit.
This thread is all over the place 😃
That being said, I wanna jump in on some action and say how I use my dresser as my PC desk 😳 I don't have much room in my room for a desk with all the consoles taking up space and my giant bed that takes up half my room, sadly I live in a box
As for Fortnite, I had to get all the star wars skins because what star wars fan wouldn't, especially Kylo Ren aw🙌 That skins is my fav and the only reason I still play fornite now, to flex and see my boi in action!
PC personally I bought a premade and it has pretty decent specs, for a 1.3K PC I would hope so though. 2060GTX i believe with the basic 16 ram and 1 1/2 tera. Keep it by the window so the winter can keep it cooled better considering how hot it can get inside my room.
As for the OP leaving, I hope you do return for next season and if you play on console (XBOX), let's get in a few games. I myself pretty much only come back for the BP to complete it but recently a tournament opened up nearby and me and my team are in it so gotta get better now if I wanna win that prize shhmoney. 😎

Are you pro SBMM, or at least the current state of SBMM for Apex?
I bring up SBMM because it’s come up in this thread, and subjectively speaking, its something that has me close to “uninstalling apex” as the thread is titled. I won’t speak for everyone, but my public lobbies consist of a majority of Diamond and Predator contrails. Even if I am that caliber of player, its stressful if I’m only ever playing people of that skill level; I literally can’t make a mistake or I’m dead. It’s a tiring scenario.
How is that even possible when there are only a few thousand predators world wide across all platforms?
Even PS4 needs to fill spots with platinum players for ranked matches. I don't understand how it's even statistically a possibility to have majority Dia/Pred player games, every single game when those players are only 2.3% of the player population for those two ranks combined.
All these people on ryzen and gtx 1080 and then there is me rocking an mx150
@SS_Mabezan if it runs, its not buns 🤔

I think you are absolutely right! Its statistically not possible and it is not happening in reality!
I only would be convinced if there are real gathered data, but this is difficult to do:
It is pretty hard to spot and analyse all contrails in a match!
And you had to write your result down and get results of at least 20 matches in a row!
And you had to repeat this at least for 1 week every day at 3 different times...
You should also note the stats of the champion team and the team that killed you.
Again you need to do this for 20 matches in a row, 3 times a day, 7 days in a row.
And you might need to get more data for the weekends.
Maybe if you have ALL THIS data you can caculate some more reliable statistics.
But do not wonder if the confidence intervalls / standard deviation is too big to get a technicallly valid result.
Sadly, there are many threads against SBMM where this doubtable statements about contrails and rank of the teams are spreaded...
AGAIN MORE INFORMATION FROM EA AND RESPAWN ABOUT SBMM, CACULATION AND SOME STATISTICS WOULD BE GREAT!

Give all of the SBMM supporters the option to play ranked (sbmm) exclusively. This will ensure they are always playing people of the same skill.
Sorry I am done with ranked mode, there is no more improvement possible for me!
The problem with ranked is that IT IS NOT SKILLBASED.
NO IT ISN'T!
Why?
Because you get points for every match regardless how bad you play.
Just 1 kill and woops you are positiv in points.
Even if you just do 1 damage to that enemy, if you get the kill you get rewarded...
But even worse: In ranked there is no possibility to lower your rank!
You are stuck with too strong enemys and get overpowered every match.
STUPID SYSTEM!
Why not let me go back to bronce?
And why am I paired with gold players 4 levels higher than I am?
The low player numbers and long waiting times just show that ranked is booring and obsolete after your eached your max level...
SBMM is more flexible! If you play bad, after 5 matches you see your oponents getteing weaker.
If you play good you get harder oponents. Why not?
Sealclubbing and pubstomping has finally ended! Get used to it...
BUT I HAVE AN IDEA:
Use SBMM for ranked, and give all sealclubbers and pubstompers the random mode!
