@johnmiceter PS5 copying is a lot faster than PS4. The SSD makes a difference. What was 45 minutes on my PS4 now takes 10 on my PS5.
Im sure not all games do it the same way, as some patches do install instantly and others don't. I remember when I first got a ps4 at launch all patches would install instantly. Then after a few years, this COPYING PATCH thing started to happen to all games. But on the ps5, I read full ps5 games dont do this COPYING THING, but I have yet to play an actual ps5 game on my ps5.
- @johnmiceter The smaller the update on ps4 games, the longer the copying. It has been like that for a long time. Larger installs are shorter. Why? No idea.
I am not sure if my PS5 game does the copying or not. It tends to update when I'm in rest mode or playing something else so I never see it.@hayhor It could be a stupid idea but i think that the copying data starts pretty much when you start downloading, so if you're downloading a large patch the ps4 will copy before the end a big part of the game. If you have a small sized patch, then most of the copy will be done after. At least that's what i think it's happening, but i have no technical base aside from my experience to say this lol.
