Is it possible to win free apex coins? [PS4] -Nothing illegal

I'm asking this because my friend, on PS4 [Brazil], got something about 500/600 apex coins (don't remember the exact amount) without buying anything. So i'd like to know if it is possible to win ape...

@LeoRSilva_SPFC none that I know of. Winning does not award AC, and neither do Apex packs.

@SixthOTD I could’ve sworn that I heard somewhere that winning recently will now give you some kind of reward.

Strike that. It doesn’t seem like you can get free coins at all. (Unless other people give you money or something)

  The battle pass will give you apex coins essentially paying for itself if you play all the way through.

    Yeah winning most certainly doesn't award apex coins lol. XD
    You'd think so judging by all the pub lobby sweaters though.
