Keyboard warriors, e peen comparing lol. I'm sure if you revived one of them mid match they would change their voice towards you.
Also how did they know that you didn't have 1000 kills with another character?
I use three or four characters so my kills in pre game lobby will always look less than if someone only used one, a lot of people choose one character and try and get as many kills with he/She as possible to boost their ego.

I did revive one of the flamers-and when I died a little bit later they walked right by my marker and ignored me lol
Ive actually made it to top 3 about 6 times. My damage felt isnt fantastic but it isnt non existent. Ive been playing a week. I can tell im better than I started.
For the record Ive had some pretty awesome people I played with who had good attitudes, gave advice and took rookie mistakes in stride.
Question about the reporting tho:
There's no proof. So I make a report and you take my word for it? That would concern me what if an aggro person reports ME for flaming just because they are that hateful. Lol How does that process work in a manner of being fair?

The thing with the stats I mentioned, what makes them so important overall in my opinion is that they accumulate over time. The more you play as a team the higher those stats will climb, the higher they are the more experience somebody has playing as a team and that's the important thing so just keep playing as a team and they will climb in no time. Not sure what system you're on but if you play Apex on PS4 you're more than welcome to hop in some games with me. I'm chilled, I don't care if we die first or win, it's fun times all the same.
As for reporting I'm not sure how it works. There's no in game report feature currently so it has to be done somewhere like here which means nobody will really report anybody who isn't a hacker/cheater. In other games with a report feature I think it works based on how many people are reporting that person. A sort of "repeat offender" type feature but with Apex, not sure.
