@Cheese9Man If it will be able to go through walls then it's op as you say. Holding a spot will be impossible and i really don't like this. A good counter could be to set a limit for the number of times you can take it (it should be very low though) or make it so only Ash can use it. Otherwise passive game will be useless.
Passing through wall is
1. Good escape abilities when your team trapped inside building and caustic throwing his ultimate.
2. Good ambush between room/building.
3. Good rotation : Imagine changing building that next to each other seamlessly.
I don't think they will make only Ash can do it, they like to make abilities that team mate can use it as well.
They probably just make it one direction, or only use once per direction, shorter distance.
The tricky part of this, they have to block many structure to make sure player doesn't portal/hide into structural trap where they can't be shot/get out (rocks, car, inside structure, etc).
As ussually they will make it strong at launch, then nerf it one week later.
Note:
One time, my team mate, Loba, somehow portal into a car, then trapped inside and can't get out. I show her how to get out by portal into the wheel rim !
@Cheese9Man Imagine during competition and rank, they purposely hide inside the structure to avoid battle, wait until it silent, then get out when battle is over for 3rd party !
