Let's talk about Respawn's inability to do Ranked Math

So, look at the entry point, if you are in Platinum I, and you come in 4th, but your team gets no kills, then you lose an RP.

Oh, but you should have to be able to get kills to advance you say?

Let's see, first off, no matter what ranked you are when you stop basically smurfing and playing people at your own skill level, whether its silver, gold, platinum, whatever it is, you're supposed to be matched with peers.  That means if you and your team mates place top 10, you should get positive ranked points, as long as you get kills, right? That means, minimum, 3 kills for your team if you are fighting your peers and at least holding your own (which would mean you can place 10th, and get 3 team kills, and you shouldn't lose RP, right?)

Nope.  Coming in 10th (or 9th) at Platinum I and getting 3 kills is net -20 RP :P 

4 kills?  Still -10 RP

Meaning, as long as you are killing the same amount of enemies as you are worth, you are losing RP.  You would need 6 kills at 10th or 9th to get a measly +10 RP.  Forgetting what it took to get you to Platinum I, I hope you have a lot of time because that would be 80 games of Apex at that level to get that one ranked to Diamond.  Whereupon I would imagine you would quit.

Of course games are going to be more like get -40s or -50s if you get wiped early, with the occasional game of positive points.  But as an average, again, in the mind of Respawn, you should be losing your rank unless you belong something like 4 entire divisions above your peers.  And should you reach the next lofty bracket, you should be demoted if you can't beat about 75% of your own likely skilled opponents.

I'm playing, because I don't really care.  But who is so dim witted as to have rolled this out and expected no complaints?  This is pretty short sighted, the more it goes on.  I mean, unless Respawn wants less people to play ranked in which case, GG Respawn.  Mission accomplished!
