@MassiveVernon sadly the history of Low Profile had absolutely nothing to do with how big or small a character was. It was tacked onto Legends as Season 2 started in order to add incentive to players playing other characters. It was meant to nerf the popularity of certain Legends at the time, and Wattson in particular was added later as the meta for ranked had changed into, "Sit in buildings and camp".
Octane doesn't have LP despite being similar in size to Lifeline, and Crypto doesn't have it despite being similar in size to Wattson.

It's a meaningless 5%, especially since they've been going through and nerfing all the characters who've had Low Profile tacked onto them. They should've done one or the other, meaning they should've either doubled down and increased the damage taken while not nerfing anyones abilities, or taken LP off after the nerfs.
- 5 years ago@pastaclown Ahhh I see . Il be honest though after 1k+ hours played on it I totally thought octane had low profile lol . Yeah I agree then really , but at the same time Im glad they didn’t increase it cause it really just wouldn’t be fair .

@MassiveVernon Nah just a whopping noggin hitbox....arguably worse than low profile. XD
- 5 years ago@MandatoryIDtag Lmao your not wrong there . Gotta be big to be able to support all those big brain plays most octane players are renowned for though .. * hits stim at 10hp whilst taking ring damage and then goes down *
- 5 years ago@pastaclown How much the damage will increase if low profile on 7%??

Umm nope. I can quote a Respawn dev on this matter.
'People always forget that low profile exists to counter the effect of a small hitbox. These Legends are literally harder to hit. It has nothing to do with ability balance.' source
"I've definitely thought about giving Wraith extra low profile. She has the same hitbox as Lifeline and Watson but her animations make her smaller. We could also change her run anims but she will lose some personality in the process. Tough problem." source2
Also, the gaming merchant's comparison isn't 100 % accurate. So what the dev said is as accurate as it can be.

@Warz0ne_LegendsA wingman shot does 38 on 'Fortified' legends whilst 47 on a 'low profile' legends, 45 on others. How is that '1 dmg'?
Edit: I am talking about bodyshot dmg if that isn't obvious.

@BaldWraithSimp Those tweets are much more recent than to the period I was referring to, which is undoubtedly my mistake. The introduction of "Low Profile" had nothing to do with hitbox size, but as I said, had more to do with adding incentive to playing other characters while they looked into balancing.
It's unfortunate but increasing the amount of damage taken overall is not a satisfactory outcome, neither is changing their animations. A difficult problem they have to solve over there at Respawn HQ.

@pastaclownWell, the legends with low profile are the smallest legends so... And the dev himself said it has 'NOTHING' to do with ability balance.
On the other hand, I can see how you think it's otherwise. Wraith, Path, Lifeline were(are) the top 3 chars in terms of popularity.
