I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this season's changes. Ash. Weapon "buffs." Redemption. The conclusion I'm coming to, though I'm not completely there yet, is that these changes are not all that much worse than any of the other ill-considered changes they've made in the past. The reason they feel so much worse is because the last few seasons have brought a tidal wave of players on secondaries, many of whom may be actual cheaters, all of whom are trying to cheat the skill assessment, and the matchmaking is accordingly schizophrenic. For the first few weeks of the season (in pubs) I was routinely in lobbies where the grey area on the skill distribution curve fell way to left-of-center. Today, light switch flipped, the grey area in every match spans from just right-of-center all the way to the top. Meaning that there is at least one predator three stack in every lobby. But the funniest thing of all is that my performance, by any stat you care to measure, is very low and has remained constant throughout the season. My squadmates, who also should be substantial performers given our place on the curve, are the exact same "drop hot, die fast, quit before respawn" **bleep** clowns I was getting matched with when the grey area was all the way to the right. None of this makes a lick of sense. The only constant I can see is that the quality of enemies is relatively high regardless of what the skill distribution curve says. Hence the theory of rampant secondaries.
So many problems. And Respawn's response is an LTM where it's "okay" if a cheater kills you because you can just respawn right back into the same bad match so the same cheater can have a second crack at you. Who thought this was a good idea, and why do players seem to love it instead of being insulted by it as they ought to be???

I have realized with this ridiculous TTK, that I am better off playing COD.
If I'm going to die within seconds, at least with COD, I can respawn within seconds and be back in the action... as opposed to waiting up to 5 minutes to get into another Apex game and hit the ground, just to die again within seconds.
In what world do you Dev's think that I'm going to play more dying even faster than I did before. Again this is a battle royal and you now die faster than COD team death match.
I feel like you Dev's are almost trolling at this point with having shields and meds in your game! Why?

Ask yourself, "Who benefits from a faster ttk?" On paper the answer is that the change applies to everyone and everyone "benefits" equally. But obviously that isn't true. The people who benefit are the same people who benefit (or at least are not hurt) by every change made to the game: streamers, cheaters, and pros. Perfect accuracy is perfect accuracy regardless of ttk. The rest of us are meant to struggle as always, and find that instead of emptying half a clip before acquiring the target, we've now emptied almost all of it. So aimbotters continue their field day unabated, and we work even harder for less.
I'm not sure Call of Duty is the answer, but I certainly get your logic.

Lol, I don't play COD anymore and for years now. But I feel like, it would make more sense to, than play Apex at this point. Coming from a stand point of trying to have some fun in a short amount of time, because I have a job that contributes to society : )
But yes, you are bang on... this new TTK only helps the above you have mentioned, and unfortunately we casuals are the punished. And cheaters with all their aim mods, must be loving this new TTk - cause faster kills means more kills. You're right... where is the 40 bomb badge? These poor pros and cheaters are gonna get bored soon and we can't have that.

I will second that. I think the original idea was to lure the streamers back, who in turn would lure the average Joe back again playing APEX. But according to the previously speculative stats almost 30% of the players are cheaters (the 6 million banned accounts official statement is a testament to that, too) the single largest group benefitting is the cheaters camp. With TTK reducing two things matter more and more: early spotting the enemy (primary beneficiary: players with map/wallhacks) and godly aim (primary beneficiary: players with aim-bots). Also TTK reduction is just simply not benefitting players who relied on brains and not muscle/godly aim playing this game. No matter if I position myself better, set up an ambush properly and the guy just turns around and one-clips me without even being surprised much... We are going back to the DOOM / Quake age, I guess...

So I left the game sometime mid-season 22 after putting 6000+ hours into it over 5 years. Then there came the hype around season 24 and I bit on the bait (this and that many users banned, you will not be dropped to predators as an appetizer, revolutionary anti-cheat changes, etc.) and came back only to see my KDR and average damage further drop. I simply do not feel that there was any meaningful change that would make the average player's life better. I still am getting one-clipped by players with sub-level 100, 50, 10 accounts (who are best case smurfs but probably fresh cheater accounts), getting prayed on by 3-stack predators every 2nd match, so no, these changes did not help the average player and nor will they help to attract new players. As others properly observed: they are for pros, streamers and of course _cheaters_.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder if I am the only one getting the 6-8 year old age group (**bleep** the PEGI is 13 for this game, right? :)), the stoned/drunk and the mentally instable/emotionally disturbed as teammates all the time :D Seeing your post gives me hope. I am not alone :D Soloqing is a lifestyle, bro :)

I’m a sweat, I genuinely don’t care about the new TTK change. I’m a master player, of course I wouldn’t mind it. But my friend is a casual, he plays Newcastle and Gibraltar and I play Wraith and Octane.
In my experience, I can’t carry my team anymore. And for my friend, he literally says that once his randoms get in a fight, they are just running and panicking, he can’t use his bubble to save any of them. He can’t revive them anymore, he can’t do anything. Tbh, he isn’t even half bad at the game, he just doesn’t play sweaty. I’m extremely good at Apex, not to brag. That’s not the point though, I can normally kill a few squads, but end up dying later unless I’m playing Ash, I win every match with Ash. I can’t carry my team anymore. I used to be master, my K/D dropped a pretty good amount, I wanted to get my friend in ranked, he said he would just carry us by protecting me and I deal dmg and play movement and whatever. But me and him just decided to not even play ranked anymore. At least not this season, maybe when it gets fixed.
Both players, sweaty and casual will always lose, in one way or another.
