The game has a steep learning curve and the Matchmaking is also tough on new players.

I hope you are having fun.

As far as your Rank and the others I think you may not be seeing things correctly since you are a bit new.

If you look at their rank it should be close to yours. It should just be blow them when the screen shows your team, same for the Champion sqd just before the match starts. 

If you are looking at the other players badges (Just to the left of the legend pic) (and not their current rank) then you are looking at badges from other seasons where they ranked up to masters and Pred etc.
