@DarthValtrex I've always seen it as taking time to reflect on the year that's just passed, and thinking to yourself "how can i become a better version of myself" and then using the start of a new year as a clean canvas to strive for that improvement.
Of cause you can make a decisive decision to do something any time of year, but with a new year comes an entire previous year of reflection. 😛
