There is a theory to the logic of leaving a steaming hot drop zone for all those who want to put their face into the pile.
But I'd redesign it. A while ago I promoted the idea of a small room where everybody could just jump into and have a fistfight. Sort of like the lab on King's Canyon but without the whole charade of a story behind it. Just a big plain room for all the steaming hot drop you could ever want to get warm in and everybody who wants to can go there. Nobody can get out until one team wins and they get the price of a gold P2020 each.
Now imagine how much harder it would be for most people to win a match if all us hot droppers spread out and played every match like it was a tournament lol.
12 squad final circles would be the next complaint.

If teams spread out they'd still fight naturally during the game but maybe it would be better because teams would have stuff. Pro ranked doesnt end up like algs at all but is well balanced. Teams spread out and then take on fights. Watching Rogue it rarely comes down to more than 3 or 4 teams at end circle.

@MandatoryIDtag lol, true enough! I mean that’s why I just don’t drop there and let the pile on happen. To be honest I think people who drop hot also just end up doing it all wrong. If I do stick with a team going into fragment (which won’t be in ranked), I try to land you know not exactly dead center between all teams, if it’s ranked I land outside separately but nearby, so if they are cool enough to survive, I’ll be nearby ish

I was being a touch dramatic yeah. 😛
In all seriousness though I watched KC final rings change dramatically for quite a while after they removed skull Town. Would regularly have 6-7 squads in last circles and It became a sniperfest. This is literally how I got most of my early sniper training in lol.
I'm pretty sure people were complaining about this back then also.
Long story short, hot drops are part of the game, if you don't like them avoid them....play the game how you want to play it let others do the same. ^.^

@MandatoryIDtag I think the real point is simply not even that it's part of the game, but it's kind of part of most Battle Royals.Balance is tricky and I think Apex is very heavy on map design the way their game plays. There will always be a perceived 'best zone' to drop in, based on loot, on people who want to see action right away, wherever.
However, Skulltown was, and Fragment still is, probably too much in favor of one zone. Instead of nuking it, which I mostly root for because it would be hilarious (see Skull Town tears), I think a moving around of the loot boxes would work out. Like there are just so many of them dead center in the town, and that's where the YOLOs go to die.
With so many buildings and cover (which is one thing I like about Fragment), I think more loot inside buildings rather than binds on roof could help. And maybe spread them out better so it's less like a bullseye of loot and more like a ring.
