Let's have a debate about this.I think PC players should have the ability to choose for themselves if they want cross-play. @Popa2caps Server fragmentation or playerbase splitting is not just about increased queue waiting times, but also about a much smaller pool for the matchmaker and higher average ping for many players.The removal of the crossplay toggle was made for the mid/long term good of the game. Players only care about their personal & immediate benefit, when things go South they never admit having a role in the failure and fly away to other titles.If I were a trillionaire, I'd make an experiment: create a game and then give the players access to everything possible, including things like setting servers tick rate or modifying the matchmaking formula. I'd be really curious to see how quickly the players.would destroy it .

Sadly its unavoidable, Console gamers are grouping up with PC players to get into the lobbies for the aim assist help otherwise we wouldnt see console players at all.

I don't know that any of us here knows why the devs have made this particular choice, except that they have made clear on a number of occasions that inclusiveness is important to them.

@pandareno1999 I'm assuming but I honestly think cross-play is forced on PC because the majority of PC players would disable it, if given the option. I wish you could make polls on this forum. Would like to ask how many people would disable cross-play on PC if given the ability.

@Popa2caps No one really knows. But think about this. Let's say that PC crossplay was off by default. It I played with E9 who is PC while I am console, who would we play?

You would only be connected to others who also have cross-play enabled on PC.

On the one hand, I imagine there would be a decent number of serious PC players who would like to opt for mnk only lobbies. On the other hand, is the example we have of the Switch player base. They have the option to opt out of cross-play, which puts them at an incredible disadvantage against PS4 and xbox players. But they overwhelmingly did not do so, making it impossible to find a non-cross play lobby. I expect the number would be far greater than "no one," but not nearly enough to support the player base split, either.
