People leaving in pubs

I haven't played Apex in a few months, I hopped back on for Shadow Royale and played a whole ton of that. It ended though so I decided to pop on and play some pubs, and holy has it ever been an awful...

As @Kyldenar said, practice makes perfect.

I know it isn't the way most people envision the game being played and that robs the motivation to try. But to me it just seems like common sense and I've found it also leads to a fair amount of success... if you define success by wins rather than kills. That's the sticking point for most people. They still think they're playing a game where "most kills wins."

@reconzero yes practice very much does make perfect. It's just hard to get any decent amount of practice in because no matter how I try to do it, I'm always going to be at a huge disadvantage.
If I run into a full team-dead
If I see a single player and attempt to try my hand at taking them out-dead
If I managed to make it to end circle I'm not going to be able to beat the full team or maybe even single person I find there. More often than not (if even ever) the people at the end circle are going to be the ones I have no business being in a lobby with.
My games vary between being somewhat decent player or trash unfortunately.

Just my opinion here, but I really believe that there's a lot going on in any shooter that makes people like you and I feel like trash players when the real truth is that if you had the magic "fly on the wall" point of view for your engagements then you would see so much going on to explain your failures, things that you either can't see first-person, or that happen too fast to notice. And I also believe that 5% of this stuff has to do with aim, the thing that makes us all feel like trash players, and 95% has to do with positioning, map knowledge, and game sense. The difference between those things is that aim is something I can't improve at. My accuracy is low (unless sniping) and it always will be. It's the nature of high-recoil weapon design. But the other things are all knowledge and experience based, and those things can improve every single time you play the game.

If like me, you find losing gun battles to be dispiriting then avoid them. For now. Until you build up more confidence or are running with a squad of people you know and trust. You may never find a squad, or discover that for many reasons you prefer to run solo, but the confidence will come. Slowly. Painfully slowly. But it will never come if you're one of those players who believes that the game is 95% gun skills and 5% brains. It isn't. It's the opposite.

I know already I have potatoe aim and sometimes just straight bad luck. It's even more disappointing to get the jump on someone, empty an entire clip into them, and break their shield just to have them turn around and two shot you.
Surviving the rings isn't as much of an issue as being able to stand against other players. I can get to the last circle, top 5 teams on my own.
Right now my path has taken me on a hiatus (again). I want very much to enjoy apex but it's quite difficult with the inability to improve with how the match making works.
I do better in arenas though. Depending on my team and if it's going to be a somewhat fair match.
As for finding a legit team? It's probably not going to happen. A majority of my friends don't like pvp games and the few that do it's hard to play with due to work and time differences
