promo code

I bought a promo code for ps4 as a gift for a friend without realizing it can't be used outside of the UK. I was hoping that I could get the seller to make the promo code invalid and then send me a new code which my friend can use. I have contacted both amazon support and EA support about it but they both say they can't do anything and tell me that the other company is responsible so basically it's a back and fourth. Is there anything I can do about this?

    You might be able to use VPN on the device you want to use the promo code on. That should work I think.

    @310200315 Can I ask what the promo code is for? If it’s a Playstation Store code for adding money to his wallet, you actually don’t need a VPN unlike what popa2caps have said. The account itself should be registered with the UK as an address. He/She doesn’t have to be in the UK but it’s only the account that should have a UK address. Unfortunately, you can’t change your PSN address. If I were you, I would just use the code for myself then just gift him another one that’s for his region. Hope this helps.

    Yeah kind of a dumb situation, I bought the code from amazon and its a code for ps4, but both EA and Amazon are saying they can't do anything about it. EA says "talk to amazon", and amazon says "talk to EA" the reason I got them this gift is cause they wanted that limited wraith skin in the store right now but they don't have the original pink one. sadly they may not be able to get it

    @310200315 That’s unfortunate. Should’ve just gave the money then let him buy it. All playstation card codes are country specific. Learned this the hard way back around more than 10 years ago in PS3 when my dad bought a playstation store card in Japan but I have an account from a different region. I think I was gonna buy Fat Princess that time. 😅

    @310200315 Yeah there is not much we can do about it. I did something similar for a friend in Canada and ran into the same issue.

    You could potentially contact Sony and see if they can do something. But I'm not sure if they will. It's worth a try though.
