PS4 controller support PS5 Version

Can’t find anyone talking about this, but do we know if there is an answer for why we can’t use 3rd party controllers(ps4 controller) on the ps5 version of apex?  I know at least 15 people that are ...

    I haven't found the next gen update all that compelling yet so far.  You guys might as well keep playing on  the PS4 version until something changes - got a controller, Sony released back buttons, Apex gives us 120 fps...
