Question about Heirloom Shards

Returning player here from S2. Just want to ask how Heirlooms are acquired now? Since Anniversary event has been active, I see that we can acquire 24 right now on how many anniversary skins we get, b...

    @Ohma_ArgusWhen it comes to heirlooms you can get them two ways. One is via opening standard apex packs. You will either get one from a random apex packs (very rare for this to happen) or you will get one when you open 500 packs. When you do receive a heirloom the guarantee or an apex pack the counter is reset to 0.

    The second way is via the events. This is cheapest way to get one. If you unlock all of the items in the event you will receive the heirloom. Receiving an heirloom from the event will not impact your guarantee for the apex packs. If you were at 354 packs opened and buy a heirloom during the event your guarantee will still be at 354 packs. 

    For this specific event you would need to buy 22 of the event packs. If you complete all the challenges for the event and receive 2 free event packs you will only need to purchase 22 event packs. Now if the events are for a specific legends heirloom such as when they released Caustics. If you buy all the event packs, you will not receive shards! You will get that legends heirloom.

    You can have more than 150 shards. You can not have more shards than there are heirlooms. If there are 10 heirlooms out and you have all 10 heirlooms you will not receive more shards until another heirloom is released. The only exception is for this event.

@Ohma_Argus So the way the new system works is that you do the same thing, AKA open 500 non-event packs, on the 500th pack, you'll get Heirloom Shards instead of a random Heirloom. You'll get 150 Shards, and that's enough to redeem one Heirloom set of items.

You can't mix and match, so you can't buy Wraith's Kunai and Octane's Butterfly Knife. So if you pick Wraith's Kunai, you'll use all 150 shards, and get Wraith's Kunai, the Banner Frame, and the Banner Animation to go with. You can also hold onto the 150 shards if there isn't an Heirloom you want, but I believe you can't exceed 150 shards, which means you won't get dropped Heirloom shards again as long as you're holding some.

@pastaclown You can get more shards as long as you haven't unlocked all heirlooms.

    are you still able too get heirloom shards even after getting the wraith heirloom back in season one? Please i need an answer quick

      @AdaelArreola Yes you can still get heirloom shards even though you have got the wraith heirloom. And that is because you can earn enough heirloom shards as there is heirlooms. For example, each heirloom takes 150 heirloom shards so you can earn enough heirloom shards as there are heirlooms.
