Ranked arenas in season 11

Has any one tried out ranked arena's in season 11? I want to give it another go since It said in the patch notes that they "fixed" the ap system but want to make sure

that it's true before diving in. IK the ap system need a fix but how about matchmaking, has it been good so far?

I don't understand how ranked arena works, we won 7/10 placement matches but when we started playing with our ranks (silver 1) we got deleted 3-0 four times not even close. Idk how but there seems to be serious smurfing.
