Re: About converters such as XIM on the PC version.

XIM is and will be a cheat firmware that exploits the fact that you get controller aim assist on mnk. If you wish to find a loophole considering announcements and rules to use it I dont think the forum will help you much. In general all cheating ruins the game and eventually people will stop playing if its not handled.

XIM is considered cheating is the short answer if im not wrong, you should read the terms its handled as a strike pack in that consern.

And my advice, just learn how to aim, its not that hard 🙂

  • Is there any official EA statement that the use of converters is prohibited on PCs?
  • I do believe its a part of this: https://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/#section2

    Rules and Conduct:

Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools .....

Not sure where they have the list but in general this is what macros, strikepack and so on is gutted with, in general there is no difference in connecting that thing to a console vs PC come to the rules.

  • I checked the terms and conditions.
I want an official statement that explicitly bans converters.
    What should i do?
At this rate, the player who uses the converter on the PC cannot be stopped.
  • Thing is they cant explicitly ban specific items, they do it on a general tone if not xim could just call it bim and they would be good to go again :P

Problem is how hard it is to detect, and I dont thing converters on PC is a huge problem but ofcourse a small advantage is a small advantage, on console however its a bigger issue. In general a mechanically good player with mnk should have lower latency on input, xim does not have the same input latency as controller and mnk as it translates in between (they however get the aim assist which is a *)

I would be more conserned about the strike packs and what not that gives people autofire, anti recoil and what not, that is also handled under the same rule.

@jeyzzy Hey there, this is not something that would be commented on officially. The TOS answers this for them. The rule it would fall under is as stated.

Using 3rd party devices to gain and unfair advantage over other players.

Since we're discussing it:  What possible legitimate reason could there be to use a device like xim on a PC?  I can't imagine one, but maybe someone else knows?

  • People would treat xim the same way people use strike packs or any other of that kind of software to take a unfair advantage over everyone else. Xim could make your pc think you have a controller plugged in to give you aim assist but yet still using mnk.
