Re: Apex Legends low fps GTX 1080

Same * here. Only solution I've found is to turn all the graphics to low, especially the VRAM thing. The game is now ugly as f but I don't have any fps drop. I still have the random crashes, even more than before the update.

I5 7300hq

16GB RAM

1060 6GB with latest drivers.

  • I wonder how high the TOs FPS are.

I have almost the oldest cpu in this forum ( i7 3770k +GTX1070 ) and 110-140 fps now.

Maybe this engine has a problem with all the modern CPUs ?

All ppl having troubble with FPS run on very modern CPUs. I dont think the problem is on your side of the pipe ( if your drivers are up to date :P )

I am still using my 1st gen i7 920 and so far its handling everything fine...well as fine as would expect from a 10 +year old cpu.

Hey all, for anyone seeing this issue would you mind capping your FPS to see if it makes a difference.

You can Cap your frame rate by following the steps here:

    • Go to origin->game library->right click on Apex ->Game properties->advanced->and put in Command line arguments: +fps_max 75. (You can try setting it lower too (100, 90, 80, etc.) This step has improved stability for a lot of players, but you may need to try some different settings to get it right.

Let me know if it makes a difference.

  • Hi guys,

I have a question for someone playing on a 1080p 27" monitor. I'm considering an upgrade to 144hz, but I am currently used to 60hz 1440p 27" screen- would you say that 1080p 27" looks way worse than 1440p 27"? If it's noticeable, is it more in games or watching high quality movies/videos?

Basically I think my rig is just slightly under-powered to run 1440p at 120+ fps consistently for most titles (primarily Apex legends now) unless everything is battered down to very low/disabled, but I'm sure it would do just fine on a 1080p setting.

    If you're curious rig is:

    i5-8400

GTX 980 Ti overclocked at around +200hz core clock and a bit more on memory clock

    32GB Corsair Vengeance 3000

    SSD + HDD setup

Recently built with all new parts except for GPU and drives.

    Thanks!
