@monstersdnaYup, this has been going on in Mixtape for like 4 seasons now. And yup, if you turn crossplay off, crossplay isn't off, it just removes the system icons.
And apparently, judging by eyewitnesses and recent posts on reddit, PC players are now exploiting into BR matches as well, disguised as console players. So there's basically no safe mode currently in Apex.
