Re: BR fatigue and the future of Apex
@Cheese9ManFor me, it's more video game fatigue. I haven't even really been playing my single-player games, recently. I've just been relaxing with the pups and geckos, and rewatching Top Gear (UK, before the guys left, of course).
As for Apex in general, all of my complaints are minor, to me. I will admit, that I have been very lucky, and really haven't dealt with a lot of the issues that other people have dealt with repetitively, so I'm not really losing interest in it. It also helps, that my two buddies have uninstalled CoD yet again, and have been on Apex again with me quite a bit lately.
Definitely agree about the movement and whatnot. The movement alone, had me hooked when I first played back at launch. It is kinda depressing, playing other games now, and trying to slide and move around like we do on Apex, Lmao!
Cross-progression, I don't really have much of an opinion, as I play on Xbox, and don't even have a computer that can push current video games. I do hope that it is implemented sooner than later though, because I know a LOT of people would greatly benefit from it.
I can't really speak much, to the game fixes/issues, because I've been pretty dang lucky, as mentioned above. The audio really only effected me with the Revtane meta of the past, which was incredibly annoying. I have only been disconnected a handful of times in 3+ years. I don't really buy coins (bought S2 Battle Pass, and have rolled the coins over since then), so I haven't had to deal with coins/cosmetics not showing up after purchasing. Still though, I know these problems exist, and definitely hope they can polish it up in the future, because it can be extremely annoying for those that are constantly effected.
Also can't speak to the next-gen version, as I have yet to upgrade. Same as the other issues though, I sincerely hope they get it squared away for the ones that need it!
The matchmaking, I know, has always been a topic of discontent. I don't know if I'm just in a sweet spot or what, but I've never really felt like it leans too severely, one way or the other. I get rolled every now and then, but I do plenty of rolling myself.
Moving forward, I'm with you on the LTM rotation. I think it would be WONDERFUL for the game, to have a rotating LTM playlist, which rotates some of the fan-favorites on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I also really hope they reduce the map rotation times (I really like @hayhor idea of 30 & 45 minute rotations, I believe it was)
All said, I still really enjoy the game, and will likely continue to play it for quite some time, unless some game-breaking issue pops up for me (unlikely). I think one of the biggest reasons that I can easily enjoy games, even with issues, is that I stopped taking games seriously a long time ago. I was really competitive back in the Halo 3 days, and it just wore me out, so I don't have any interest in it anymore. I'm here purely for entertainment. I have been lucky as far as bugs/issues, but the ones that have popped up from time to time, I tend to get a laugh out of, simply because I just don't take games seriously anymore.
Edit: Request for future Apex. Can we please get a safety net underneath Olympus, so I don't fall to my death every 3rd match?? Lmao! I need to get out of the habit of making blind jumps over barricades/fences and whatnot...
