Re: Broken Ghost Quest Lore Thread

@BaldWraithSimp Every time I read it as venison dynamics xD. But yea I forgot about that.

I betcha there will be mirage-wraith ones too! Mirage in this one seems pretty anti-Miss andrade. So unless his bar works some magic for him as the barkeep, I’m not convinced.

Loved the dragon hunt thoroughly, and going through skulltown was a bonus. Done in one and the usual increase in heartbeat with a resolute "yes" and fist in air upon completion. Great sense of satisfaction with each of these hunts. Would love it as a weekly exercise.

What is the artifact head going to be attached to  enquiring minds want to know?

Are respawn going for a revenant/Path body with a different head?

Or will Revenant/Path be turned in a 2 headded monster?

Is the new legend going to be simply a floating head and no body?

Will Loba replace her own head with the artifact?

Is the artifact in fact Wattson's father's early work?

The more I think about it.....

The more confused I get! 🤭

@OldTreeCreeper I actually don’t know for sure 100% what the head is, despite all the leaks I’ve seen.

It is some other robot, probably. Wattson thinks it’s female, so that would rule Pathfinder (right?) and Revenant out.

It probably isn’t Wattson’s father’s work, since it would likely be out of his specialty. (Especially when you try to incorporate biological parts.)

I think they kind of cheaped out of the ending. Like, I understand Revenant was suffering a lot, but for him to make a 180 in his alignment and completely forget his entire bloodlust is a bit of a stretch.
They try and fix this by saying that he was torturing Hammond employees so that he could learn how to destroy himself, but still, why would he need to brutally murder them in the ways that he did?

@Koochi-QI wouldn't bet too much on it if I were you. I prefer MiragexWraith to MiragexLoba by miles, but don't be denial
And by "Anti-Andrade" you mean that he defended Path? That's not much honestly.

  • @budzai I’m not. If mirage doesn’t get her, there’s more Wraith for me 😏 so I’m good either way :P

I’m tired so my memory is fuzzy but if I remember correctly even in-quest mirage said 1 or 2 things negative about her. Afterwards in dialogue some more stuff... I might do quest again just to recount but I dont think it was because he defended path but I could be wrong.

@Sir_Named Data knives were used in TF2 to inject code and Wattsons father has a picture of him holding one, so she may well have one and now the necessary code to reprogram. They were used to hack Spectres. Could it be that Wattson and Loba are in cahoots (as mentioned before) to bring about the demise of Revenant, by injecting the new manipulated code into a modified Spectre, the new legend?

And a new female legend could be correct too. Ash fits the bill here.

    @OldTreeCreeper

But having a data knife to working on a simulacrum is a big stretch. Data knifes were just used to inject code, so he probably was using it in one of his invention. (Unhackable spectre, or maybe just a ring that’s controlled through hitting it with the data knife.)

Wattson’s father also probably didn’t build Ash.

They could be trying to reprogram the head, but I doubt it since they don’t really know who it is. It’s also likely a simulacrum, who probably has defenses against it. Also, using a data knife seems to be more of a rush job for pilots who don’t have time to actually hack into a spectre, someone like Crypto probably doesn’t need/want to use it.

  • idk ive some1 else has seen it. But in the newest piece it says ASH.

  • @budzai Old man knows lots of ways to smooth over the ladies. Just look at that pacifier licker Mirage. No dice for him. Too young & inexperienced. No smoothness. While more experienced lads are like whiskey. Cool to look at but hard to take down XD

I should write for commercials dont you think xD

@Koochi-Q Yes, you absolutely should! Your writing skills are bad enough for that, old man.

I watched a video by thegamingmerchant about the possibility of the broken ghost being ash. The letters "s" and "h" are seen on the right side of the head but I was looking today at the left side and there seems to be a  letter or two that I cant quite make out.

Caustic reveals himself to be the mole and of course his motives are much more sociopathic than we had hoped.

We only have one piece to go which I'd wager is the face plate to give a proper identity and everyone has gone off on there own to acquire the final piece.

I still feel at some point we're going to face off with the other revenant or at the very least our revenant. A showdown with the one in the "shadow realm" so to speak could be saved for another season. Season six: shadow fall.

And we're getting new lore on Mila.

  • Dragon hunt was fun, one and done,  but that bit more difficult as I couldn't play Wraith and make a quick escape to the jumpship at the end. Played Wattson and barely made it 😃

  • @DK9027 Yup.
It seems like it will be Ash, although until we get the final piece we can’t know 100%.

There will be a mini showdown with our Revenant, since Loba’s going to prepare for his arrival, and Bangalore is going to help Loba.

One thing though that puzzles me. If a simulacrum can just upload to another body, couldnt ash just do that. After being defeated in titanfall 2 couldn't she just brush it off. Why did we have to travel to another dimension to recreate her. Why was she scattered into parts, why was she in king's canyon

  • @DK9027 Good question.
I heard that Ash was brought back after being destroyed in TF2, but it still doesn’t really make sense that we were finding her in another dimension.
  • Leaks Ahead

    Spoiler
the leaked voiceline of ash saying welcome to olympus is so good
  • @DK9027  I think the fundamental difference between the two is that a standard simulacrum (Ash) has their organic matter implanted into the mechanical host body, which is how their personality is transferred into a mechanical body.

Revenant however has his head stored in stasis and the host body is essentially controlled remotely.

A standard simulacrum can be transferred to a new body but it's nowhere near as easy as it is with revenant.

@MandatoryIDtag I wonder why they didn’t make Revenant’s version standard if it’s much easier to recreate him.
Maybe they don’t want to make their other simulacrums as immortal? Like limit them to a few lives?
  • @Sir_Named  it's probably a financially restricting project if you look at it realistically.

He's an assassin and not a particularly sneaky one that's lived for 300 years...he's probably died countless times.

Then we saw the storage facility for his spares that loba blew up...there was hundreds, and that's just the site we know of. Who knows how many more there are?

If you did this en Masse with every simulacrum the production costs would be vast.

@MandatoryIDtag True, but they wouldn’t have to go that far.
Just create a few copies and maybe make some more if they run out.
