Re: Change lava design

@S53CTR07 I'm not sure where you heard that lava was supposed to be a way to escape, because that isn't entirely true. From what I can remember, the devs didn't want to make falling into lava too punishing, but they also didn't want it to be too easy to cross, leading them to what we have now.

  • @Sir_Named  I think he's specifically referring to the lava that runs through fragment, which you can float on. 

    In this regard he is entirely right, it was advertised as being an escape route at the risk of damage, however it's a clunky slow deathtrap...if anything its actually more of a hazard than the actual lava elsewhere as like the OP stated you become target practice for any squad that see's you.

    Movement becomes incredibly sluggish and slow whilst floating on it. They claimed it would deal around 25 damage to get across,however seeing as we seemingly dip below the ground level repeatedly when using it the damage is more along the lines of 50-75.  

    It would be so much better if it just acted like the geyser vent.

    thats exactly what i'm saying, it was 'meant' to be some sort of escape from the battle route, but it is a death trap as your so slow.

    it needs to be improved like the geyser.

    @MandatoryIDtag No, he's right. they said, and I quote 'The original design of the new fissure had players drop to their death if they had the misfortune of missing a jump. We wanted this gap to matter - for players to fight across and control the bridges as the only way across.' The lava was never planned to be a quick escape.
