no videos yet. I’ll look into it.
- @Frosty20203 It's going to happen every now and then no matter what you play on. Rare yes, but does happen to me.
- BigMacAttack8u3 years agoSeasoned Ace@FairlyOddUncles Just becase it’s been a part of the game for so long doesn’t mean it doesn’t need fixing.
Playing Apex on both the PS5 & Xbox Series X for a while now (& on the PS4 & Xbox One before that) & hit reg issues & input lag problems have been there for many a season & at one time I'd often think was down to the high ping & volatile server issues but I just think these are just many issues in the game in general that have game for a while they are part & parcel of the game now. Hit reg & input lag for me just feel worse on the next gen consoles 'PS5 & Xbox Series X than on the last gen consoles (PS4 & Xbox One) but whether that has to do with the so-called,low-brow next gen upgrade that frankly doesn't or look or feel like a next gen game should I have my reservations though. In various matches I often encounter situations where I am engaging with the enemy/enemies at close quarters firing several magazines of bullets directly at the enemy with very little if any damage at all.And I've often found moments when using many of the characters Tactical or Ultimate there would be a slight delay that could last a few seconds or so between actual button implementation & activation (I'm not talking about those that naturally have a delayed response like Vantage's Echo Relocation or Loba's Burglar's Best Friend's bracelet).
I just spectated a teammate trying to kill a downed enemy with a bocek. I saw the downed enemy get hit with like four or five arrows at range with high hit points, and he managed to crawl away to a hiding teammate and get res’ed. Very clear that the subroutine that triggers the state transition between hit counts and grim reaper never fired.
there’s also a reason I often can’t hit with snipers. I estimate there’s often a one second delay between the position where I see an enemy and where he actually is.
Also, in fights, I often empty a clip into the back of a clueless enemy and yet he has enough notification to react, move, turn around, and shoot me dead in a blink of an eye without me seeing any indication of a single bullet hitting me. Why don’t I have the change to be notified someone is sending a stream of bullets at me? Why is that the first notification I often get is that I’ve been downed?
I feel that half the fights aren’t fair.
In real life if you sneak up on someone from behind and shoot them with one bullet, you will win the fight.
apex should be the same way.
if someone was smart enough to outthink and outflank you, a single bullet above the waist should be enough to knock down an enemy. If more bullets than one hit, then the effect on a hit player should be the same kind of stun you experience when hit my some ultimates.
if I sneak up to Shroud and hit him in the back with even a p2020 bullet before he hits me with anything, that should end the fight. Apex is penalizing tactical players in favor of aimbot players.
- @Frosty20203 The ttk in apex is high. If you sneak up on someone you have an advantage as you'll start firing first. But you need to hit your shots. If you don't and don't have cover or can't move well to reload or gun swap and they hit you, you die. It is part of what makes apex fun.
I feel when I don’t kill someone I snuck up on, it’s network lag that is to blame.
A single bullet in the back ought to stun at least as much as any arc star or ultimate near hit.
Back attacks at close range should succeed 99% of the time. Not mine. And it’s not because I miss.
I’ve learned that when I empty a clip in the back of an unsuspecting enemy, the human response time is too slow to react and avoid being knocked. This happens very fast.
And if instead I empty said clip into said back and said sitting duck miraculously reacts and evades with movement and turns around and kills me, it’s because a good number of the bullets I correctly aimed DID NOT register.
Thus, two scenarios, one, sitting duck survives a player with bad aim (it happens), and two, sitting duck survives a player whose hits are not all registering. I’ve played long enough to know the difference when it happens. I do screw up lots and get killed because of it, but I also often do right in these instances and nevertheless, hits aren’t always registering.
@Frosty20203Hitting an enemy with a bullet it nothing like getting hit with an arc star. You are slowed by 10% for .25s.
Unless you have video proof, my guess is you are missing more than you think. Or you don't have a clip big enough to one mag someone, which happens too. We all know that no regs happen. I have a couple incredible moments recorded.Getting hit by a bullet in real life often kills. That’s more than stuns.
In apex, enemies hit by even one bullet should be as stunned as if hit by other things. Why do some ultimates cause both shield/health damage AND a slow down in movement but a bullet hit won’t? A bullet hit is the HARDEST thing to do (not an ultimate that sprays and prays), so it should have the highest reward.
In the sitting duck scenario, I know when I nail it (and don’t get the kill) and when extenuating circumstances have caused me to mess up or maybe miss.
To always say that someone is likely missing is allowing a big to go uncorrected. Of course, it might be impossible to fix such a bug on a distributed game system.
this game is designed to penalize tacticians and help good aimers become gods. As a result the match making sucks.
Bug not big
- @Frosty20203 Without video unfortunately no one can really help. There was a bug where wraith was invincible for a bit coming out of her phase. I have clips of at least half a mag from r301 and flatline mags no reging. See-

Luckily they fixed the wraith issue because they had a lot of examples. - @Frosty20203
When the Bow was ground loot I used it often. But I would often get hit regs. And a few times, I would get hit regs (for no damage), but then I would eventually end up killing the guy. And the deathbox had all of the arrows that I landed.
So the game IS indeed registering the hit, but not registering the damage.
Anyone here familiar with what causes such an issue? In the death match mode, I’m constantly getting into situations where I’m firing almost point blank at the SIDE of an enemy who is firing at a spot ten feet behind me (where I was standing a second ago) and yet the enemy wins. No way! Clearly some serious lag or computational errors going on in this game. I feel I’m rarely in a fair fight. My enemies constantly have a one or two second advantage on me.

I definitely feel your pain Frosty. I have said it multiple times, the hit register is WHACKED. You come up behind a guy who is clueless to you even being there, unload an entire clip into his head until he finally realizes where the shots are coming from, then wheels around and taps you out with full purp, within a millisecond. And you wonder why people rage out on this game lol.
I started recording a lot on OBS, so I actually do have evidence of this happening. Strafing sideways, watching and hearing all the hits, and getting no damage. Its very frustrating.
Got to say, Im probably one of the oldest guys playing this game. I have to keep my chops up to compete with all the young bucks, their hack aim assist and other hacks beyond that, let alone guys that are just really freakin good .I don't just say stuff for the sake of complaining. There is some very real problems going on, and I feel that because it is not happening to everyone, all the time, that there is reluctance to do anything about it, sadly.
