Now I know what not to say but I didn't say to anyone I was just typing I out yea it was still but, technically by their user agreement which says "Harass, threaten, bully, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated." I shouldn't be banned because it wasn't directed toward anyone.
Trying to figure out what bad words are allowed and not allowed is attempting to bypass the system. That in and of itself is an actionable ToS offense.
You made your bed..................
If i made my bed i made it in my home when did EA get invited in my home.
- BigMacAttack8u3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Not_EliteNuke When you invited them in by accepting the tos
tos said if it was directed towards anyone it was not so again uninvited. and no i'm not justifying what i did i'm just saying getting banned for something like this over people who have actually said still being able to play is crazy.
Did you not understand or did you choose to ignore what I mentioned before?

I am European. I have no idea which words are "bad" in the optics of some American company. Might I suggest, if EA refuse to accept that they offer their game(s) to non-Americans but expect us to abide by the Extented American Profanity Dictionary while playing their games, that they provide a list of which words we can or can't use, just to avoid confusion and (unjust) bans from their games. ty

Language barriers are not a proper excuse, especially with these rules.
If you're playing with german people on your team you can't really say things that could be offensive in any language.
Saying black in spanish can be deemed as offensive if taken outside of it's context so I can understand where this issue can manifest itself.
Though realistically this isn't an issue, you can hardly offend someone with a mistake like such.
Don't use any offensive language, you don't need to have extensive knowledge of a language to know what is appropriate and inappropriate.
In fact, certain synonyms that can both be slurs and actual words are typically expressed as the slur or swear word for new learners, so if you lack knowledge of a certain language you would especially know what you aren't allowed to use.
Just follow the ToS/User Agreement and use common sense.

@XHelperZI am not talking about language. I fare decently in English, I'd assume. I'm talking about culture. In an American cultural context basically anything seems offensive to someone, and especially to EA's ToS department. You can't assume everyone around the world would have an extended knownledge of what is offensive to some random person/company in Redwood City, California.
E.g., I would be extremely apprehensive writing that I am from the former Yugoslav country which Podgorica is the capital of, or writing that I am an ******, from that country in the South of Asia where New Dehli is the capital, etc.. These names would not be "bad" in any context for... basically the entire world, but to Americans however... Now, if it was clear what you can or cannot say, the rules would be easy and carved in stone for everyone to understand. I would not expect some random person to even think twice about writing these, perfectly natural things, in a game's chat, if asked where they were from. I on the other hand would expect EA to hand them a ban over it, because... well, yes, American company.I wonder if that American actor from "Diagnosis: Murder" and like 7 decades of American television, would make an EA account with his name as his gamer tag, would he get banned. 🤔

@CCbathwater That's understandable, though for them to actually punish an username they'd have to receive quite a fair bit of reports.
I'm more of a fan of letting the user change their name instead of banning and so forth, as of course, these types of situations can happen here and there.
There are some rules here and there that tell you not to use anything related to religions and so forth.
I think your point is quite valid, though if it gets reported then the community obviously has some issues with it.
Realistically we can't really expect a list that would show us exactly which things are banned and which things are allowed.
I feel like there should be a list cause people nowadays get mad very quickly and if you didn’t know what you said or did that can ultimately result in a ban i’ve seen it countless times how other languages differ and some words have different meanings that people don’t know of result ing in a clash where one person or 2 people end up getting banned because of a barrier and no knowledge of that culture.
Again the TOS never said anything about typing out the word ALONE it specifically says if directed to another person i wasn’t trying to bypass it in anyway bypassing would be spelling it out message by message to someone as a way to insult them there’s a huge difference in what i did and what bypassing actually looks like.
I got banned for saying *snip* not even the ga or hard r but gus which isn’t a slur btw.
I was in a lobby with 2 friends we were recording our games for fun and to like see what we suck on. We all knew slurs get you banned because it’s hate speech that’s #6 in EA’s TOS but they weren’t clear on what slurs cause my friend who’s Asian typed the ch word and nothing happened perfectly untouched i typed out *snip* and get permabanned. Now if i said an actual slur or even broken a TOS rule I’d understand but *snip* isn’t a slur nor was it used in a hateful manner which is also a part of #6 on TOS I’ve seen people say way worse i got called a hard r because he asked where I’m from and i said Nigeria because that’s where my family originally was and that guy’s account is still up and running. I don’t know what else to say i don’t feel like disputing because it’s EA they are gonna think they’re in the right so. I just felt like putting this out there really. Hope whoever reads this has a good day.

Hi @Not_EliteNuke,
I've edited your post once more to remove those words again. Please, do not repeat this, continuing to do so will result in forum sanctions. I've also merged your thread into your existing one from before on the same topic. Please do not create new threads for the same issue, it's considered spamming/flooding the boards. A Community Manager locked this for a reason and shared that in his post. Don't ignore that and create a new one, that's not ok. Instead if you feel there's been a mistake with a thread closure or the forum rules weren't being broken, please report the thread instead and we'll take a look into things. Please keep these things in mind and check out the forum rules before engaging further.
As mentioned above, this isn't something anyone on the forums can help you with. Terms of Service exclusively handle ban cases. It sounds like they investigated this for you and confirmed that the ban or suspension was correctly added for rule-breaking. What that rule-breaking is, we are not privy too.
Since this isn't something we can assist with directly, I am going to lock this thread. Please do not create new threads on this. Follow the advise I shared in earlier posts if you need assistance.
