Unquestionably a 'cheat'.

If it is not possible to remove it outside of the graphics options and you are playing against people that don't have it obscuring their line of sight then they have a massive advantage.

I thought it was just me, but you must think it is a problem too and with a solution like this then it must be generally, the animation affects the ability to aim.

It needs to be fixed by the developer as it is an exaggerated animation that is affecting gameplay to the point it is generating work arounds.

Reminds of of the excessive flinching in Battlefield 3 they had to tone down, although they never did do anything about lens flair as it was the 'art direction' and some people were using injectors to change it.
