Re: Ping never matches up to server

@Koochi-Q Funny how more people disagree with you than agree with what you said. You said i get good ping in valorant because of how small the lobbies are. Then explain why i get 60 ping in arena matches where there are only 6 people?

explain how ive ALWAYS had good ping in ANY online game ive played EXCEPT this one? you dont have an answer because youre wrong. you will always be wrong. apex legends has bad servers. everyone knows that but you apparently. I could ask every single one of my team mates what their ping is on menu and in game and guarantee the majority of them will say theyre vastly different. Does every player have bad internet or is it the the servers? its the latter

@Benchwarmerbrew Please show me 1... one comment from the previous replies where someone disagreed. I’ll be waiting.

    1. I didn’t say you get good ping in valorant, 2. you said you get good pings in any other game than Apex, but you mentioned getting 60 ping playing 6 ppl valorant... while in your first or second post you said that no game in 2021 should give you that ‘high of a ping’. So please tell us which is it? Do you have good ping in every game other than the 60 ping Apex or not?

Valorant has other engine, source code and is an entirely different game. It stands, without reason, that you’re gonna get better ping in a game that has a small map with less players than a large map with multiple people. Thats not to say that it’ll always be like that tho.

“ So the server it self registers in that area at 21-27 ping. But once you connect to it that is subject to change depending on where you are and what servers you are connecting to” - E9ine_AC

The whole post of Doyaseeme are all in my favor or are you that delusional that you don’t see it.

Does Apex have weird issues with connection? Most certainly it has. But your reasoning is so flawed beyond belief that it’s comical to read. Saying something so baseless without knowing even a little bit about networks, internet connection or servers.
  • @Koochi-Q yeah totally. every pro ive watched has said how bad the servers are but youre saying its my isp. i have literally never played an online game that has given me this bad of ping. go on twitch. the majority of PC players will have 50+ ping proving apex has bad servers

@Benchwarmerbrew I think people here doesn't fully understand your problem cause I have this too. Before I start I look at the data centers to pick the servers I want to play on and it would tell me I have 60-80ms and 0% packetloss in tokyo but when I get in game I would have games where I have 200ms and/or 50%loss. What's the point of showing ping and packetloss when it's not even close? Might as well just delete them.

@Benchwarmerbrew Even your deflecting is subpar cause as it stands you have not:
    1) Provided any evidence as to who said I was wrong in previous replies

    2) Nor stated why you said Apex (with your example being a ping of 60) is high and you never experience that with other games, yet suddenly say that you get the same for Valorant

    3) Now even saying I blame your ISP, when I’m asking for evidence where I mentioned it.

You get bad ping, woohoo, many others do to. Get over it or stop playing if it bothers you that much. I also don’t see why I need to go on twitch to see that most have a ping over 50. Arguably most people that stream live in US. Big Country. Vast Expanse with miles worth of network cables going everywhere. What do you think the average ping is they’ll get for most taxing online games? An even simpler question: If the closest server is several tens or hundreds of miles away, do you think your ping will be below 50ms?

@Daze623 I understand what he means, but daze, you know everyone who commented here. We all know how it works. We all know that the in-game lobby almost always has a higher value than the main screen lobby indicator. We even provided the reasoning yet this person still wants to go against the reasoning and claim things that I have said which I never did or make claims that are just baseless xD.
  • I don't really get the problem here, the guy just wanted to help you and gave you a simple explanation. Some people are really defensive now a days xd.

But on the other hand, posting hating comments against @Koochi-Q ? I'm in!

@MrCarri-X Lolz he’s not sending hateful comments so you failed! He’s trying to defend his claim that games nowadays shouldn’t give players 60+ ping, while also stating it’s Apex’ fault that he has that high of a ping.

First part I disagreed with cause that’s nonsense and the second might be true and I’ve stated that, yet this person somehow sees that I said the opposite ^.^

So take your ‘me’-prosecution and find other allies!

@Benchwarmerbrew  It isn't necessarily just your ISP that's the problem(and I mean on an infrastructural level not at your end precisely), it's the fact you're playing a BR. There is considerably more packets being sent to your side, than there would be if you played a 6vs6 arena shooter for example, it's naturally going to manifest as higher ping when you think that it all has to be delivered as close to real-time as possible.

This isn't an attack on you at all bud, I totally get your frustration on the matter as we're all in the same boat.

@Benchwarmerbrew You cant always go by pros ping. They jump all around on servers to avoid stream snipers and play with friends around the world. And when they die, they need something to blame and lag is the easiest thing to say.

In my personal experience my in game ping ranges from 20 to 80 when I connect to my closest lobby server. This is because matchmaking prioritizes speed of finding a match over everything else. Because the US has a lot of server locations you can end up connected anywhere. Do I get weird spikes sometimes? Yes and sometimes resetting my modem or console fixes that issue. Sometimes it doesnt. But overall my connection is pretty good, even when I connect to another continent at 120 ping on purpose.
  • I live in IL and use Iowa or St Louis servers. It says i should get 20-30 ping. I get 50-60, sometimes 70 ping. I moved my server to South Carolina across the country and now im getting 40-50 ping

    explain that one
