@LaughingSharkoFrom my thinking, if someone can't tell the difference between an exploit vs something allowed such as wall bounce is an exploiter himself. And is trying to use the argument 'WhAT AbOuT WaLl JuMp' as rhetorics
And you can see their twins complaining on Twitter 'Why should I be punished for something that the devs put in the game' 🤡
Another example being the crypto/rampart flying Sheila issue, or using an ability to clip through terrain.
Basically an unintended feature is kind of like an exploit. Should you find one clip it, report and don't attempt it again, this is the best way to deal with the situation should it arise.
And for the love of god if its game breaking please don't plaster all over social media. XD
I’m very analytical in nature. I come from strategy games and rpgs where cheating is often more direct and has a clear cut line. You have to edit the games files, or make it bug out in some strange fashion in order to stack effects or upgrades. It’s easy to know that these things are against the spirit of the game, but here the line seem blurrier as something like tap-strafing is speed-tech carried over from other games as unintended code that is often used by high level players in game. It is possible for anyone to do it, with the understanding and proper controls but I don’t see how it could be an intended mechanic. My frustration here is that I would like to implement such strategies, but I see no logical process with which to justify and or distinguish these strategies from stuff like the rampart/crypto flying Sheila.
- @Waybe97 All(most?) movement techs are given a clear pass. They might remove it in future, but till then you are free to use it.
Example- Bunny hop healing used to be a thing but was removed later.
As in unintended ability interactions like Sheila/Crypto, Jumppad/Gibby shield or Gas trap/Gibby shield are exploits. You may not get banned while doing them in pubs, but don't do it in ranked. Most of us would know what to classify as 'exploits'.
There was a 'infinite heat shield' exploit that some used in ranked to sit outside the ring for as long as they wished and win for free. They were banned or demoted whatever that was. Thanks for your time y’all. I’m still a little confused but I think I understand enough. Your answers are most appreciated.
