Re: What is the easiest way to obtain an heirloom in Apex Legends?

@Nazeesh_khan

I’ll copy paste my response from an old thread and an answer to your question when is the easiest way to get one.

1. Heirloom shards are guaranteed after 500 packs opened.
2. The (hidden) apex pack counter to 500 resets to 0 if you received an heirloom shard.
3. Event packs from collection events don’t count towards the 500 pack counter. Specific legend apex packs (bloodhound pack etc) count. Thematic packs like this Dark Depths event also count.

Myths on heirloom shards

1. Your odds does not stack up the more you open packs. You have an equal amount of luck every pack you open.

2. The odds of getting shards in 1 apex pack is not known. Don’t believe someone if they said you have you have 1 in 500 chance. The odds are not known it’s just listed as less than 1% (it’s way way less than that).

3. Your EA account region does not matter. You will still get the shards at 500 even on whatever region your account is in. There’s a myth that it is impossible to get shards from apex packs if you’re on Belgium.

When is the easiest way to get an heirloom? Whatever method, the easiest way will always involve money.

Easiest Method #1 - Anniversary Event. Apex’s 2nd year anniversary (2021) had this collection event where all the skins are 50% off discount. So if you have enough crafting metals to buy all the epic skins in half the price, I think it would cost around $70 (I might be wrong here) to buy all the remaining skins in the event. If you bought all 24 skins, it will reward you with “free” heirloom shards. Hope that they do the same since I have 7000+ crafting mats for this event.

Easiest Method #2 - Sale events. From time to time Respawn would have apex pack sale events where they would sell a bundle of 20 to 100 apex packs. This is the only time that apex packs are the cheapest.

Like what I’ve said, all these “cheapest methods” would require you to shell out some money if you’re not lucky enough to get one. After 3 years of playing, I just got my first one last Christmas from a bundle containing 20 packs for $10.

How close are you to that 500th pack? You can estimate that by using this apex pack calculator https://mike.zarandona.com/coded/apex-packs-calc/

I was lucky enough to have saved up my cm for a while.

I had over 5000 from bp play. I bought all the purple anniversary stuff with them as the cm price was halved.

I had a few coins saved up again from bp play, and a few left over from a previous must have skin purchase.

I joined Ea play for €1, an intro offer that gave me 10% off coin purchases.

I bought the legendary Lifeline skin and 7 packs, already discounted in event.

I bought the other 2 legendary skins offer, also discounted in the event.

I got 2 free anniversary packs from the event.

Got my shards from the event.

All in all I paid about €55 for the heirloom I wanted, a kunai, rather than buying 500 packs.

But it was more a reward for all those who saved up their cm from play and the BP.

  • @hayhor I have my fingers crossed for you. Its lovely to have one when you get it and I'm still enjoying it almost a year later. I have to take the kunai off when playing ranked as its far to distracting 😃

Which one will you go for? 😉

@OldTreeCreeper The one I want isn't out yet. So I'd be saving them.

I already have caustics and gibbys so yeah I agree they are awesome. I'd never unequip them tho!
