Re: Who plays well with Crypto?
@PJBurrows1991 I never said anything about Octane with crypto. But he can fill the free slot, if you have an octane player. He could be flanking more, since he can get there the fastest. Much like the pathfinder - it's best if he comes in at unexpected angles.
Wraith-path is most likely going to be a mainstay duo for competitive play. So if you want to add a crypto to that, you'll just have to get rid of wattson.
Although I do think path is not as terribly necessary on this map as he was on KC, so maybe wraith-crypto-wattson could work too.
Wraith definitely ranks much higher than path in Crypto setups, there's no doubt about that one. Unless you're playing a very specific camping spot, that only zipline can reach (not that many of those on the new map) - then maybe crypto-wattson-path could have some merit. But utilizing crypto's ult effectively in this comp would be hard (well you can still zap everyone in the final circle - that's definitely a very strong play and doesn't depend on your comp at all).
P.S. Crypto is strong and fun, but I don't think we'll see much of him played in high level tournaments.
Probably will still be wraith-path-wattson with a mix of lifeline.
In a less coordinated environment (e.g., if you just can't depend on a well timed wraith portal), any legend will do just fine with crypto. The important part is good communication between crypto and the rest. If crypto goes in to drone and others engage exactly at the same time - it's never going to work, no matter what legends you play. As crypto, you just have to get used to using your drone much less with such teammates; as others, you have to learn to pay better attention when crypto is droning.
If teammates are going in hard, you can always leave a quick drone to scout the back - slide, release drone and immediately exit the drone (you should still be sliding by the time you leave the drone, so you won't lose much momentum for using the drone). At the very least the drone will force anyone coming from behind to go around it and slow them down. At best, it will be shot and you'll know they're coming.
