Re: why do you keep mixing ranks?

I'm having the exact same issue. Only recently started playing ranked and blitzed to plat, only to start consistently being put in lobbies with preds where I'm way out my depth. Just finished a match where I was killed by a full predator squad including the #3. Why am I playing the #3? It takes the fun out of it, it would be much better to wait double the time for a game but only play against other plat players.

Another issue with the ranking/matchmaking is the fact that you cant get deranked. There are so many plat IVs who consistently go hot drops alone and die without caring because they're stuck at 4800, so they dont care, and it wastes the match for their teammates. With such a big jump between gold and plat especially, you HAVE to be able to derank.

@catsinaction01 Keep grinding you'll get better, you'll start to have success and figure out what works and what does not.

@DarthValtrex The thing is, i think my ceiling, (even if i improved) would be low diamond anyway, so its not like i feel stuck in a low rank. Its just irritating that once i've arrived in platinum and im not good enough to carry matches anymore that the ranking system stops the games from being fun, because it warps how people play and how matches are made. I dont blame my teammates, they're dropping hot/solo because theres no reason not to. if you're plat IV for example and struggling, you can drop hot, probably die early but have a fun game, or you can drop, loot up, not have a fight for 10 minutes then meet a predator team who would kill you 9 times out of 10 anyway. Its the system.

@catsinaction01 I think you could probably improve if you really wanted to. I've been having ups and downs, but I noticed this on my grinds through ranked. I stalled at platinum 4 for a bit. I ran into the same issue you did, carrying people in Platinum is an entirely different ball game. I imagine if I ever put the time in to make it to Diamond I'll hit a similar wall in Diamond.

But I agree, solo queuing in ranked takes the difficulty of it and multiples it greatly. The nice part about it? When you play PUBS you typically shred lobbies after intense solo queuing in ranked.

Grinded Diamond for over a week before going back to Duos, handful of games in, and was averaging 1200 dmg with roughly 8 kills, that's where i went "hmm something is wrong here".

@Gabrielmojo26 Yeah I have a predator friend that I play with a lot. I do horrible in his lobbies, I'm happy if I break 800 damage with 3-4 kills.

He signs off next round I play in my skill level lobbies. 1900 damage 10+ kills. I'm sitting there going why can't I do this with my friends?!

@DarthValtrex So the game makes you look trash in front of them xD I used to have this with my squad in my Gears of War 4 days. Playing on my own I'd always be within the top three with a high K/D. Play with my bros and I've be "paying rent" at the bottom of the scoreboards getting trolled by them xD
