100% the reason they have a limit on kills is because if you reach your desired placement too quickly, there's no incentive to actually keep playing ranked. With a kill cap you have to sit there and tiredly play out every single game for better yield on points. Thus meaning you'd have to play more games and play Apex for longer and longer.

They care more about player retention and keeping people playing, rather than pushing quality updates that make people WANT to keep playing. Another Bandaid on a problem that they've created, not us.
