Not a big deal.

You can hear the drone from far away.

You only have to spit on it and it explodes, that's fine.

It is also fun to grapple it while your mate is controling it.

You can boost the grapple pretty good when he is moving it up or forward while grappling.

In all seriousness, i tried using crypto with my usual squad and it was a nightmare. Firstly...didnt find a long range weapon in any of the games, even on deathboxes.

Secondly my team mates usually run octane/bloodhound so there was absolutely no legend cohesion and to echo the issue others have voiced i found myself playing catch up every game due to the nature of my squad.

On a positive, setting up your drone correctly can lead to some nice ambush ults, e.g setting the drone up above a doorway in a room and luring enemies in, popping the ult and throwing a couple of arc stars at them, even shield poppers can't defend against this.

Alternatively you can just run sheer interference before third party'ing by using EMP on the stronger squad leaving both sides weakened.

Bottom line is he's a legend for team players..

Head hunters will hate using him or having him on their squad.
