Replacing/improving useless legend upgrades
I love the new upgrade system and I’m a huge fan, however I have a few questions about it, some of these seem quite useless. And I love the game, so naturally I'm going to suggest some improvement so it's more fun and balanced! I'd like all upgrades to be equally good, instead of having one always being a must-pick.
Vantage:
I noticed maybe a 25% further double jump range, but that obviously seems rather useless.
I’m going to suggest reworking the “Bat bounce” to provide: +25% Echo range.
However, Vantage is going to need a few more changes, and that’s to Vantage’s ultimate, which is so useless that I often forget or don’t bother using it in a fight, because it doesn’t have any bite compared to all other snipers. The longbow has a much larger magazine, the sentinel hits harder on the first shot, the charge rifle also often does more damage, and the Kraber is the Kraber.
Thus, I’m going to suggest a rework to Vantage’s ultimate:
Increase the first shot damage on her ultimate to 80 but remove the damage doubling on successive shots.
Increase the damage amplification to 25%.
This means the sniper still deals 100 damage on the second shot.
This should make her ultimate compete better with ground loot snipers, and marking people will now be noticeably more useful to the team, while not being able to 2-shot enemies either.
It might also be a good idea to make the Kraber a ground-loot weapon, with 75 damage and the ability to penetrate a surface, just like mad-maggies tactical. In order to make it stand out from the other snipers.
Crypto:
Not much to explain here, I rarely lose my drone, and 10 seconds isn’t going to make a difference in a fight.
This upgrade is extremely lacklustre and should probably be increased to a 15 second reduction.
This ability is useless. The callout is slow, and you can already call out enemies with your own drone when pinging banners.
I think it should be replaced with “+50 drone health.” Which fits perfectly with the drone/emp upgrade tree design.
Caustic:
I’ve never noticed this upgrade been noteworthy and should probably be reworked to: “+150 trap HP”.
This is another weird and mostly useless ability, as you’ll place your traps mostly to harm the enemy, not to sit in the gas yourself. Thus, this one should probably be reworked to: “+25% gas trap gas AOE.”
Please comment if you also found a useless upgrade somewhere, or an upgrade that you'd never pick over the other one offered.
