I would disagree with two things. The lore has been on the downhill for a few seasons now. The trailers are mediocre at best and the chat box style of storytelling is just bad.

As for the game being competitive, unfortunately the nature of BR can never be truly addressed. They tried with Arenas and failed horribly trying to get a piece of the pie of that Valorant hype.
