@hayhor The virtual lack of natural cover outdoors and suitable indoor architectural cover to allow for play making using Shadow movement. Kings Canyon was ideal on these counts. Being a Shadow felt practically useless when compared with the previous two years. Last year I could easily come out of a match with 15 or more kills as a Shadow (mostly on other Shadows but also on living players), and I'm a much improved player since that time. There were some other elements that made it worse as well: such as the incredible ease Olympus allowed for randoms griefing games by killing themselves immediately off drop to become Shadows. The timer for respawns was adjusted, making it take an unnecessarily long time in between ill-fated attempts to help your living team mates after you have been killed by anyone who so much as looks at you with a gun as you travel without any cover to try to get a position to help your team. It was exceedingly rare to be able to path in a way that didn't expose you to several enemies who needed only one or two bullets to send you back to spawn.
King's Canyon was a playground for Shadows. Olympus was a respawn simulator.
- hayhor3 years agoHero@pandareno1999 Ok now I remember what you said before. I never had an issue as a shadow. I think I even won 4 games killing the last person when I was a shadow. On KC there are some pretty open areas (with hills full of snipers mind you) but the map is smaller, so it takes less time to get involved. You spawn closer to the action. The timer did get lengthy and frustrated me. But overall I enjoy the mode on both maps. The bigger difference for me was you could setup more buildings of KC as a Caustic or Wattson on KC.
