Question

Hi. I just started playing Apex in season 11 and I’m probably the skill level of Platinum 2 or 3. I got diamond this season for the first time but since I’ve been playing Apex all my opponents have been the rank of Diamond, Master and Pred. I understand playing against people who are better so I can improve but they’re so much better that I just walk in to give them free kills. After about 50 games of dying every fight I finally get a lobby of my skill level, do somewhat well and I’m back in Master -Pred lobbies. This is happening in Pubs and makes the game a nightmare to play and try to improve at. The SBMM in this game seems pretty off in my opinion and it’s not beneficial for newer and improving players. Please normalize similar skill lobbies so we can all have fun and improve at a reasonable pace.&nbsp;

@pyrociterwatzIf you are a Diamond player and you are exclusively playing Diamonds, Masters and Preds, then the SBMM/EOMM is doing its job and protecting lesser skilled players from you.Lesser skilled/casual players are technically more important than you because they occupy the largest player group— so their experience is more important than yours.

@pyrociterwatz I feel you. I have played exactly 3 ranked games since I started playing on launch day. I now exclusively get Masters/Preds/Diamonds in my pubs. I'm a not awful player at the best of times, I can go entire map rotations without getting one singular kill.

I don't know how many times I need to die with less than a hundred damage before I get a game with somebody near my skill level, but all it seems to take is one halfway decent game and I'm back to triple Preds three-stacking...

I'm not asking for bots, I'm not looking for a 4k or 20 kills, I just want to not die in 2.5 frames to the very first person I meet who double taps me in the head with a wingman from 140m away before I can even see them. I want to feel like there's a chance I could have killed them if I'd just played better. Right now it's at the point where I'm genuinely considering just dropping myself out of the map a few hundred times to attempt to lower my matchmaking somehow so I can fire a bullet before I get instantly killed from who knows where.

@pyrociterwatz I'm a fairly average player and highest rank I've ever got is plat 4. I regularly come up against diamond players in pubs and see a lot of masters as well. Imagine how hard this game is for me!! It's been a nightmare the past few seasons as it has got worse. This time last year I was doing well at this game. Not anymore!!

This is a mechanicin game that I think is greatly over speculated.

To my mind there are simply 2 brackets you're put into, and put simply that's good or bad. (KD dependent and recent wins included obviously).

I think SBMM makes players seek to play as groups with friends or LFGs. If you need you can join the apex discord for groups on pc or ps and xbox have ways to do it through social stuff there.

I have hit masters most seasons consecutively since masters was released in season 4 or 5,and before that had predator rank. I also have this problem, I go against three stacks and super sweaty players, 1v1 there's a chance, but it's very rarely that fair. So I've resorted to playing more casually with friends and just making the best of it. Or I stick to ranked and practice skills there.
