''There’s been a slight but noticeable increase in players in the higher tiers. Overall we are pleased with the distribution of players in this fashion and hope players are enjoying the climb through the Ranks every Season.''
So we basically have more master/predators compared to alt f4 season 3 which we noticed but find acceptable.
''The introduction of Master Tier has been a success''
Ignoring the majority of ranked players we find that forcing you to consistently play with the addition of ranked split to also keep engagement up is more of a priority to us than making ranks determined by skill not game time.
''Since the introduction of Ranked Leagues, one of the most persistent critiques we’ve had of the system is that players feel like they are often matched up against players far above their Rank. This experience can be very frustrating. Our data shows this doesn’t happen very often - for example, only 3% of matches for all Platinum players in Apex Legends have them going up against an Apex Predator.''
We have totally avoided friends being unable to play with more than one tier difference but matching you with golds at whatever rank YOU actually are. So best be playing with people of equivalent skill in premade because matchmaking will screw you.
''This means that Ranked is not just for the pro players and content creators out there''
Yes you forgot to mention the unemployed that are abusing dashboarding still that take literally minutes to loot a box and instantly die making ranks a complete joke.
Guess i won't be playing it for another season and best not to fix it now otherwise i'll be destroying bronze lobbies. GG
Edit: Moved post as it's more relevant here.
- @apostolateofDOOM Umm if I wanted less TTK I'd play warzone. Also theyve taken some of the advantage aggressive players have towarss end game by making everyone have evo shields.
1- love that all recon legends can use the beacons but you needed to give path a much better passive than what you did.
2- not a fan of the whole evo/less ttk thing. I prefer this to warzone partially due to the longer fights.
3- love that the choke is out of the pool and just on the guns. The triple take has never made sense.
4- stop nerfing caustic!
"Reduce the predictability of the zone’s “pull.” Yeah the game needed more rng. Being able to predict where the next zone would be is part of the game, if someone doesn't get it it's their fault. Stop putting rng factors in the game.
Path's passive is useless, i mean how high are the chances that you get to scan more than 1 or 2 beacons? Pretty meh.
As for the rest only the game will tell when updated. I'd have nerfed a little bit more Rev's ult but we'll see. Seems like lmgs will be the standard for this season.
Well by the update seems like you’re still favouring the controller players the new ttk. No match making changes? Seems like this will be a dead season after a month of hype
Pk with integrated precision choke? I might aswell go and sit in my deathbox now lol. Xd
Some good changes in there though, let's see if it shakes things up.
- @MandatoryIDtag Nothing shake things up.
They just made the game more stressful
Except shield change meta it's really amazing, really disappointing. Going back to hyper scape Thoughts As I Read:
-EVO armor changes are interesting, but reducing TTK by nerfing total shields is seems controversial, what with the Wingman still hitting for 45 a shot. Strategic positioning was already well rewarding IF you knew how to play, so I'm not quite sure what they're trying to accomplish. I guess trying to force more players to think? As if that'll happen.
-Holo Spray? Who cares.
-Quest is back, which means they're trying to keep numbers good for player retention. Wouldn't want to remove that and have to explain why player retention count dropped.
-Legends. Path loses another core part of his identity (namely his ability to secure rings before people know there's going to be a ring) and gets a small practically useless buff. Bloodhound was already pretty strong but apparently they're "under-performing"? Odd. New buff basically gives the enemy team permanent vision of you with BH ulti activated, given that it lasts 4 seconds and has its cooldown reduced to 6 seconds now, and now with even more duration! Crypto changes are welcome, but doubling hitpoints but increasing hitbox size? Will have to get back on that.
-Other Legends. Octane change is good, but I hope that it at least partially speeds you up since you can stim while healing. Otherwise what's the point? Big Booty Loba got a buff to ulti, thats good. Gibralter nerf to the least well utilized part of his kit sure, Bangalore buff thats good, Wattson shoots down Caustic in flight traps? Interesting.
-Loot: Precision choke auto integrated on Triple Take is good, R99 in CP is interesting but I'm guessing it's just going to be Wingman Devotion meta again, Gold Volt as floor loot is neat. More sniper ammo for all you freaks out there who pick that up, and reduced energy ammo pickup for an ammo type that isn't normally seen outside of early-game use. Hmm. Reduced recoil on Hemlok burst is nice, Charge Rifle consumes more ammo but has same total shot per mag interesting, Triple take big buffs right there cool, Spitfire is more accurate neat, more Havoc changes meh, Mozambique Here buff nice, P2020 now hits harder AND has more mag size nice. Sentinel...buff...? Prowler vertical changes are welcome, horizontal not so much.
-Bug Fixes: Great bug fixes for characters, but not a thing for overall issues. Another season of buggy audio, shoddy hit-reg and server performance, and terrible SBMM.
- @MandatoryIDtag After 2 months waiting nothing in system changed.
No audio advanced settings no improvements for SBMM nothing is made good Okay I have no idea on how to summarize the feedback of the patch notes so...
- Why is Rampart so OP? She can have FIVE amped walls and THREE miniguns?? Yikes! Please nerf this before we get to KC and Charge Towers...
- I'm neutral on the armour changes
- Love the idea of Holo-Sprays: a creative take on sprays in other battle royale shooters but it fits Apex
- Quests are returning! Wonder how Rampart will affect the already thick lore
- I 100% disagree with letting BH and Crypto use survey beacons. It doesn't fit Bloodhound at all and takes away Path's one redeeming quality after the insane nerf to the grapple
- Guess Zylbrad was right in his thumbnail: BH only gets buffs
- The Crypto changes are neat, especially the drone instantly being able to use a respawn beacon.
- I really don't see how the Rev nerf will stop the terrifying combo of Wraith, Rev and Crypto. Just duo with Rev and Crypto and the strat is still OP as ever
- The Octane "buff" is not good at all. Poor Octy will still be at the bottom of your tier lists, folks 😢
- Loba's ultimate buff is welcome but I don't think it will fix her too much. The bracelet is still unusable on some spots on World's Edge. It's obviously immensely challenging to fix but at least do it periodically!
- The pylon really needed to intercept gas traps. Good job
- All of the loot changes get a nod of agreement from me
- The sniper ammo buff will make the Longbow so much better
- I feel the energy ammo nerf was unnecessary
- Didn't Macro suggest the Choke changes in his weapon tier list? Or did the developers come up with that before? Anyway I agree with it
- I've been wanting the Mozambique to get a 4 shot mag cap. It will slide into my C Tier and leave the poor P2020 in F Tier
- There was really no confusion between care package weapons and fully-kitted weapons, but making care package guns heirloom tier makes them feel OP (if only heirloom shards were as common as care package guns)
- The bug fixes are obviously great but I'm annoyed the Infinite Crypto EMP or Loba's hitbox have not been fixed.
Yeah. That's my feedback on the patch notes, @EA_David. Feel free to document this somewhere and ensure it's added next patch. 🙂
