Season 8 ranked update discussion

@Tad844 It should be obvious that the reward was for S8 ranked series even if the pic was wrong. I don't get why you are disappointed :

@BaldWraithSimpIt was written season 7 rewards and it appeared in the picture. I have already watched a bunch of videos and everyone was like "so if you didn't make it to diamond yet, you still have 4 days to get the trail". And besides that false hope giving post, my stance is always disappointed when it comes to apex and its management. I keep coming back to the game cuz  I can't find anything better to play.

They are not even getting banned

Everybody wants to think they are good at the game, so they think they should be diamond.  I have no issue with keeping that rank exclusive (and I'm plat, so there).

But these changes do not make the game or ranked fundamentally any more fun.  I just, again, find the incremental movement for things that are pretty obvious sort of infuriating in all video games.  

The core issue in Apex Legends is leavers and bad play.  The second is controlled by proper design and incentive.  The first is just a matter of at least not having it more worthwhile to leave than stay in the game.

This would not just handle the problems of ranked, but of Apex in general.  People will even tell you they play ranked because people are less likely to leave it, and that is their main reason.  Obvious complaint is obvious. Oh, and you aren't going to succeed with a penal system only, because you can look at the failure that Overwatch became when they just took it out on their players by limiting roles.  

Money here, and good games are something that seem to run counter to each other in the minds of those who make this and every shooter game.  If you punish the leavers, people leave your game and don't spend money on it.  The only people who are punished, every once in a while, are flagrant cheaters, who are 'ruining the game'.  But that's what a lot of people do without cheating too.

Apex is completely ordinary in regards to its rewards, true for a lot of games.  You only get skins by buying things.  Your big prize for playing well?  A dive trail.  Wow.  yey.  Oh look, they brought them  back for Diamond - people going to go crazy over that?

You know, there's a lot of vanity stuff in this game that is super useless, and mostly a filler to make sure if you buy random packs, you have to spend a ton of money before you get a gold skin you want.  There's so much chaff, though, I don't see why a bunch of this stuff doesn't become reward for hitting each level.  You could have a near useless voice line for silver, a screen thing for gold, a, uh, I don't know, ugly Moz skin for plat, and so on.  At least give people some reward.  Maybe you lose that reward if you abandon so many games, but it isn't like you don't also get a prize for sticking around.

Whatever.  I have no hope.  Really what I expect is Season 15, should we hit it, to look exactly the same.  A new map basically, some cool characters.  But you don't get good stuff unless you buy it with dollars, forget rewards for playing ranked.
