Selfish, toxic teammates

We know they're everywhere, we know the majority of people on this game are scum.

My question is, as a PS4 player, what can I do about it besides suck it up and chalk it off (which I'm sick of doing)? I can't report people on PS4 for anything other than their profile or communication - way to go. It's been 14 months since Respawn removed the "report player" option from PS4 to "tweak it", and by now it's clear that it's not - and never will be - a priority to stop cheaters and morons from ransacking the game.

I play with my partner to avoid * teammates, but when she's not around and I play alone, I get the most unfathomably selfish, cheating, toxic teammates imaginable, almost every game. I'm not talking about "trash teammates", as we're all of different skill levels and abilities and that's fine. I'm okay with newbies and casual players etc, that's fine. I'm referring to the fact that I just got knocked, everything had been going normal all game, and both players for no reason allowed my respawn timer to tick down FORTY SECONDS while healing and watching my death box, so that they could loot my gold backpack and whatever else I had. They let me time out, to rob my stuff, for no reason. Seriously? There's nothing we can put in place to either stop, or at least report that behaviour?

And obviously to make matters worse, upon my timeout and watching their gameplay, both are using anti-recoil soft mods like everyone else in this god forsaken, cheat-ridden, pathetically moderated game.

Honestly, what a * show Apex has become since its early, fun days. What an absolute cesspit, dominated by the unacknowledged, unregulated cancer that is cheaters.

@littlxr “We know they're everywhere, we know the majority of people on this game are scum.” Well that’s not entirely true, I’ve met a lot of great people solo queuing. Do I bump into toxic players? You bet, but they are not the majority.

In fact quite the opposite, I frequently play lifeline and sometimes my squad mates get to my care packages before me. Most ping the purple armor and are cool
about it. I often let them have the purple armor because they ping it, instead of just take it.

That said, you asked what can you do? Well for starter make looking for groups. Build friendships.

@littlxr I can sense that you hate this game a lot. Why don't you just take a break and play only with your friends? There's really no point in playing this game if you're not having fun.

@littlxr You can report people in game on ps4 I believe.

Based on your posts on this forum and the first line in this thread I would venture to guess the problem isnt all them tho.

@DarthValtrex I agree with you Darth. I meet really nice people from all over the planet on a daily basis playing Apex. And I solo queue most of the time.

Scum seems a bit if a melodramatic choice of words lol.
There are some toxic players yes, but by no means is it the majority lol.

Nice people exist, they're just not the majority in this game. This game is toxic beyond belief, evident by the behaviour of teammates in almost every game I play. Such levels of toxicity is not present in the other similar games I play, neither is the absence of acknowledgement to its unhinged, unfathomable cheating problem.
You shouldn't have to build friendships to enjoy a game. Every game should be playable as it is, without a mic even if the player sees fit. That's the whole point of a ping system. We shouldn't have to play with pre-made groups just to have any fun in this game, or hope for that one decent random squad in 20 matches.
And, again, the majority of players I encounter on PS4 now seem to cheat - teammates or enemy. I won't be told otherwise, because I'm the one seeing zero-recoil gameplay every single day, all of the time.

@littlxr Being that apex is a BR and there’s only a slight number of successful ones I’m going to gander that you have played fortnite, warzone and maybe even PUBG. You telling me you never experienced toxicity there? XD. If you didn’t mean those games. Which games are you talking about when you said ‘Such levels of toxicity is not present in the other similar games I play’?

You also dont have to build friendships. It just heightens the experience if you do since playing with friends should always be better than with randoms. But another way to look at it, if you want to play solo in a teamgame, you can’t really be surprised if things don’t work out as you want them to since you’re in the minority and dont control others.
