Servers Still Iffy After Hack
I've had 2 games where I couldn't pick my character it stayed on a scenic loading screen then I was in the drop ship with whoever my tms were.

@Cheese9Man had the blurry characters too. Also last night was getting 40-50 player games, London server, with every second match duo in trio and the poor server connection icons it the top right of screen. Got chucked out of 3 matches but manages to rejoin 1. Somthing deffo odd going on.
Also as duo squad teammate passed on jm and dc, but squad showed me as solo. Wierd.
The "blurry" characters have little to do with the servers. Legends usually have 2 texture atlases for their skins, the default being the lower quality one, which is used during the match as well. The high quality one is loaded only in the menus and during the selection phase, then it probably gets unloaded from memory. During the loading and selection phase there are a lot of other game related things that are loaded and processed in the background, which have a higher priority than loading the high detail skin textures. Most of the stuff getting loaded is from the client, but there is some data coming from the server as well (ma config, other players data, etc.), so the "blur" issue can be caused either by the client loading and processing the data too slow or by the connection being slow.
My bet is that they've added or enhanced the encryption of the data being sent by the server, which resulted in the clients processing this data slower, causing delays and glitches during the most of the loading phases. So, it may be related to the recent attack, but not in the way you think.
I was wondering about the blurry loading screen characters bc that only started for me in the last season or 2. Yeah, I just figured it was some sort of optimization. The devs really got shitted on with this attack. They should have just shut everything down and fixed it during the normal work week. Titanfall?? I played it on my friend's XBOX a couple times. When I saw TF2 for PS4 then I had to buy it.
@DoYaSeeMe would that explain why the small red icons now appear in the top right hand corner of the screen in almost every match I play now (usually 2 of them)? No Internet connection problem on my end.
- @OldTreeCreeper Arent you the one that has said you have a slow iinternet speed? If I understand doyaseeme then I would guess you will notice it before others.
@hayhor yes slow when playing Apex at a ping of around 70-80 usually. You may well be right that the icons do not appear for those with a faster wired Internet, or if they do - are gone in a flash 😃
