Solos assesment from a solo sceptic

I'll try and keep this short and to the point.

Everybody on here will know I couldn't see solos working in this game and didn't want another game mode added that would distract Respawn from the core game.

First of all, I was wrong. It does work.

Secondly I do think it should stay as an option for players who prefer that mode  It's also a good mode for completing challenges without ruining two other players experiences in squads.

Third, I think it works well enough to not require any changes. The games are quick. and you can play any way you wish. Hot drop, camp, do what you will.

I've flip flopped on this mode over the last few days, but I think it should stay, but as it is. I've seen a few people playing as a pair (kinda) but I don't think you will ever stop this. Just thinking of the boosting back in good ol' MW2 days. It's not worth the time and effort to try and police it imo.

The only negative I can see, is if it has a big impact on squad MMing, which I don't think it has tbh. Only Respawn will know this.

Just my 2 cents, but the lobbies I have played in have been full, so it's obviously popular.

I've gone round in circles with how I feel about solos over the months. This is my final thought.

PS: @EA_Blueberry I love the quality of life improvements to the UI etc. The update has been great for the most part. Sorry for my angry posts yesterday. Bad day lol. Packs are way to expensive though, but I know this has been covered in tons of other threads.

Anyway, happy hunting Legends.

  • Almost on the same page as you, but after playing a few more rounds...

Now there's like an extra excuse for quitting team mode and not waiting for a revive or respawn, for playing your own agenda and caring less about teammates if they're not the perfect match. Time invested in teamwork is reduced, the number of mediocre, careless team players may rise over time.

I do like it and would vote for keeping it, although it feels boring after a few matches, but I fear that, when players will adjust to this new mode, the difference in balancing will start showing off and Pathfinders may become the apex predators as suspected.

Solo mode needs something unique to make it stand out against other BR titles.

I don't think that perception is accurate tho. People mostly quit since it's the fastest way to get back to playing after getting boxed.

And since most of the good players are playing solo, it may seem like the "effort" in squad games went down, while in reality the people playing squads are mostly of the sort that are hoping to get a carry.
